A Haute Second with Spencer: The Golden Globes 2017

Hello friends! Welcome to the new year! “A Haute Second with Spencer” is back as always and we are starting off the award show season with the 2017 Golden Globes! I love the Golden Globes because they touch on several different artistic outlets which brings in a wide variety of stars. What I’m saying is, Daenerys Targaryen can be on one side of the red carpet with Lady Gaga co-existing nearby ending with Zootopia winning an award. I am basically GLUED to the television. But I’m here to talk to you about fashion and boy do we have a lot to talk about tonight! The carpet was phenomenal so lets just get into it shall we!

Kristen Bell wearing Jenny Packham

Kristen Bell was the first one I saw walk the carpet and that was when I knew tonight’s fashion was going to be out of this world. I can not get over the silhouette of that bodice. It looks almost like a jacket but it’s actually all one piece which makes this so elegant. Kristen is just showing off the perfect amount of skin. I love this whole ensemble.

Lily Collins wearing Zuhair Murad

Oh my god this gown is stunning. The volume in the skirt is beautiful. The color of the gown is gorgeous. The embroidery… Lily is obviously one of the best dressed of the night. This gown is an example of true art. The same emotions I feel staring into a beautiful painting, are felt when I look at this gown and that is one of the many reasons why I love fashion. I can’t get enough of it.

Millie Bobby Brown wearing Jenny Packham

I’ve told you once, and I’ll tell you again. Millie Bobby Brown is going to dominate the fashion world one day. I mean she basically already is! She ALWAYS looks flawless on the red carpet. Jenny Packham is really turning it out on the dresses at this award show I love it! The silver on this dress is so fitting. She looks like an angel and I couldn’t be happier for her. So much grace at just twelve years old!

Emily Ratajkowski wearing Reem Acra

Oooh girl. Emily looks amazing. I would be lying if I told you all that I am not drooling over this look right now. Just… so much yes in one picture. Okay focus on the fashion Spencer… The yellow is so beautiful, and I love the jeweled centerpiece. The gathering of the bodice and skirt into the waistband serves a nice touch. Whoa is it hot in here?

Amy Adams wearing Tom Ford

I really like this dress. It is incredibly simple, but with the combination of the fabric and straight-edge silhouette it comes off as a very polished-modern masterpiece. The hair being slicked back and pulled away from the dress brings attention to the shape of the dress. Well done Tom Ford!

Sarah Paulson wearing Marc Jacobs

Why is Sarah Paulson so perfect? I honestly don’t think she can ever do wrong…  This gold Marc Jacobs gown is stunning. My favorite part of course is the dramatic shoulder pads creating a low-key ‘Leg-of-Mutton’ sleeve. Sarah is also walking away with a golden award to go with her golden dress. I love this women so much and she deserves every bit of this victory tour she has been on since the end of People Vs. O.J.

Sophie Turner wearing Louis Vuitton

Okay here we go. Game of Thrones in the house! Sansa looks amazing! Now I know… the first time you look at this you might super confused because there is a lot going on.. But that is why I love it. This gown is a puzzle piece of beautiful fabrics which create such an edgy look for Sophie. Those shoulder pieces are freaking cool and I will be adding to tomorrow’s outfit. Sophie is getting progressively edgier and more beautiful each time she walks a red-carpet and I love it.

Emma Stone wearing Valentino

Easily one of my favorite dresses of the night! Valentino has honestly been doing so well the past year alone. Nothing but perfection leaves their doors. We have seen several of these Valentino star dresses on the red carpet recently and I love them more and more each time they appear. The train has perfect length. The fabric has a gauze look to it and I want to touch it so bad. This dress is so fitting for Emma’s big night with all of the “La La Land” success. Emma is literally a star! This is my favorite Emma Stone look to be quite honest.

Blake Lively wearing Versace

What is this I see? Do I see gold… black velvet… a train… VERSACE. Blake Lively is wearing an amazing black velvet Versace gown and I am in love with it! I mean come on this look is bad-ass. I do wish that the pockets weren’t so big because they draw a lot of attention. Some may like that. I personally don’t. But if the pockets weren’t on there I think this would be one of the best dressed for sure. Be right back while I go scream “YASSSS” into a pillow.

The Golden Globes fashion was pretty amazing. I could go on all night naming the hits but there are just too many to count! I am a little sad more cast of Game of Thrones didn’t show up but hey I can’t get it all. So after much deliberating, I have decided on my pick for Best Dressed of the Golden Globe Awards 2017…. Can I get a drum-roll please? The winner is

Lily Collins in Zuhair Murad

This gown was an example of true haute-couture and I feel like all of our lives have improved just by witnessing this beauty grace the red carpet. Thank you Zuhair Murad for letting Lily show off this masterpiece!

Thank you all for joining me once again for another “Haute Second with Spencer“.  Don’t forget to comment and tell me who your pick for best-dressed is and vote in our poll! Another red carpet down. What’s next you ask? Well the freaking Grammys are coming up! Now that is going to be a show and I am so excited. The Grammys are definitely one of my favorites. Who will be there? Cheers to hopefully getting Courtney Love to grace the carpet but who knows what will happen! Have a great week everyone.
