Game of Thrones –
The Laws of Gods and Men
We’re just gonna jump right into things this week with the most important thing you need to take away from this episode:
PETER DINKLAGE! PETER DINKLAGE! PETER DINKLAGE!!!!
Dinklage commanded every moment he was in or near by. Him not saying anything was even fantastic. When the end credits rolled it felt like the whole hour, even non-King’s Landing stuff, was emotionally building to that speech. If we live in the golden age of television, that final moment with Tyrion was one of the reasons why.
The rest of the episode was full of great moments that are clearly the start of the final phases of each storyline. There are four episodes left and it looks like they aren’t wasting time and will be utilizing every moment, with maybe one exception.
Remember in season two where there was a stall with Dany and you were like, “Ok, um…really cool moment early on, but what else though?” I feel they are falling back into some old habits with the Daenerys storyline, in terms of development.
In summation, “The Laws of Gods and Men”, has told us:
“The Iron Bank is sassy, well furnished, and kinda fabulous. We should all want Davos as our bestie. Ramsey Snow is quite kinky. Yara Greyjoy is a B.O.S.S. BOSS. Varys and Oberyn are having a Fab-Off and I am all about it. Dany’s thoughts as a Queen: ‘OMG! MORE PEOPLE?! UGH, RULING IS LIKE SUPER HARD!’ Anyone else think this trial is one sided…and that Jamie pretty much walked right into that one? Tyrion has something to say…and anybody handing out acting awards hopefully listened to every word.”
We’re at that point where the wait between episodes is becoming harder and harder to wait, especially with the knowledge that we have fewer and fewer episodes left.
