American Horror Story:
Freak Show –
Edward Mordrake, Pt. 2
This is an episode in two parts. One was about acting, the other story. The show could afford to mix it better but this episode felt very much like we’re about to move forward.
The first half of this episode was all Jessica Lange proving why she’s always the best part of this show. Her recapping of her story was worth the insanity for the emotional everything Lange gave seemingly effortlessly.
The second part was about the show, finally, getting to a point where it can move along.
Ok, I didn’t think I would be, but I’m kind of glad we got the Twisty backstory, if only for the actor getting a chance to shine, before taking off. I’m a bit astounded as to why they killed him off so soon, but I think it was because they wanted Dandy to have a much bigger role though. A fact, by the way, I am so ok with.
Now that we got a TON of backstory it is now time for the story to actually begin to progress somewhere new. Especially now that the Freak Show at night can resume.
This is definitely be my favorite episode of the season so far.
In summation, Edward Mordrake, Pt. 2, has told us:
“Welcome to American Horror Story: Exposition. Miss O’Hare if you’re nasty…Mistress Lange if you’re a nasty filthy beast of a freak. Oh…………oh……………………………………oh. And that kids…is how Jessica just won Emmy. Ok…Sir American Beauty…proceed with your clown. Y’alll I think all I can hope for is great things for . What a find he is. Oh…………oh……………………………………oh. Twisty is the first casualty of AHS killing something special of this season. Finn Wittrock is going to be a star. If you don’t know how to feel about West Bentley…it’s ok. Those kids are free a few hours and, not the least bit still rattled from their trauma, the first place the parents take the kids is to is a place where EVERYONE looks like a freak? PATTI LEBELLE NOOOOOOOOO!!!”
It will be interesting to see what happens, especially since this is normally the time when AHS typically starts to lose focus and end up way off course. I’m strapped in and I just hope the rest of the ride is worth it.
Keep geek.
