Blood Bath
Well we are back from the break and they really kicked back off with the crazy….kinda literally.
That scene with Kathy Bates and Jessica Lange was a highlight of not just this season but probably the series. These are two acting icons and they gave powerhouse performances that was really something special to watch. I know Kathy Bates won an Emmy for last season but she deserved it for this one and hopefully she can get one more.
This episode has Dandy finding a sick sense of self aware and Finn Wittrock doesn’t drop the ball in adding a new level to his wonderfully twisted characters. It’s always been apparent he would end up killing his mother, though I won’t lie…didn’t quite expect him to quite literally bathe in his delight.
The snake girl/father storyline still feels useless. I think it’s Ryan Murphy telling us he is super supportive of women’s rights, which is sweet, but Jessica Lange and Kathy Bates did more for that message than a not so subtle message. Hopefully that was the last we see of this storyline.
In summation, Blood Bath, has told us:
Jessica Lange just acted with a piece of fabric because she fucking can. Jessica Lange and Kathy Bates are just that damn good. Death would be preferable to Tampa…fact. Dandy is sick, twisted, and we all love every last bit of it. Ryan Murphy is a supporter of women’s rights…to not be lizard people. This show isn’t utilizing Angela Basset to the best of her abilities. Elsa is all about that bass, bout that bass and so is Jimmy’s grief. Yeah…we know where you paused your DVR this episode…but dat ass tho.
Alright, I think the third act of the show has begun, I am truly intrigued as to where everything will ultimately land.
