Hello my dear readers… now I know this is a trying time for all of us. I have finally gathered myself enough to try and talk about this terrible past Sunday evening. We suffered a great loss this week during the mid-season finale. But as always, we have to try and move on from this tragedy. If we can’t move on, then we should at least try and find something to smile about and forget the pain for just a few minutes and then hope that maybe in February when the show begins again that we can try and be happy once again. So… grab your tissues and lets begin…
So this episode started off pretty perfectly. Rick was chasing down that officer who smashed Sasha’s head into the window. Don’t worry, she’s fine…but I can’t say the same for the officer who Rick ran over with a car and then shot him in the head…ouch… But hey, it was his fault all he had to do was stop and it’s not like Rick and friends were planning on hurting them.
The priest was being weird as hell like always. Of course the priest had to wander away to that building where Bob’s leg got cooked at 350. The priest saw Bob’s leg covered in maggots which was enough to make me reconsider the chili cheese fries I was currently putting together. But all in all, the priest is so useless and annoying…I wish he would die soon. I mean he brought the huge crowd of walkers back from the building to the church. Luckily Abraham was no longer on his period and he and the Glen/Maggie crew parked the fire truck in front of the church and took care of the walkers. Finally someone decided to come to work today.
Now on to the real part of this episode… Rick negotiates an exchange of people with Dawn. Carol and Beth for the two police officers they captured. Thankfully, Dawn accepts and everything goes smoothly until Dawn asks for Noah…. Oh dear… Everyone gets ready to start shooting but Noah just walks over and that’s that. I guess he is good at something.
Beth, being the amazing girl she is, see’s through all of Dawns nonsense and goes to stab her. As she takes out Dawn, Dawn also takes her out and blows a hole clean through her head. Just like that, a girl we came to know all the way back in season two on that farm…is gone…The worst part about it was seeing Maggie’s reaction. That was hard to watch… Ugh, the feelings are coming back. Unfortunately friends, it is time for another eulogy as we say goodbye to Beth Greene.
Beth was a sweet, quiet girl we met back at the farmhouse. When we first met her… she was weak, confused, and suicidal. Let us not forget that episode in season two when she attempted suicide. Beth no longer saw a reason to live and would rather take her own life rather than being torn apart by Walkers. But in the end she didn’t take her own life… she saw a reason to continue to live through her close family, friends, and the hope that one day this group could the safety they so deserve. As the episodes went on, Beth began to prove herself as a nurse, babysitter, fighter, lover, and loyal member of this broken society, Beth died fighting for what she believed was right. Beth was saved, but in the end…she couldn’t live with herself if she were to let Noah fall into the possible torment of Dawn. Beth sacrificed herself so that someone she hardly knew would have a fair chance at survival in this world. Beth,,, you taught us many lessons about family and morality. You will surely be missed.
That is it for the Mid-Season finale! I hope we can all try and get through this death together….I mean come on..lets talk about the one good thing that came out of this episode. CAROL IS BACK! SHE IS ALIVE AND RECOVERING IN THE SAFETY OF DARYL DIXON! YES…..
The Walking Dead resumes again in February and so will “What The Walking Dead”… See you all then!
