What a lovely evening we all had last night. Though Sam Smith won a bunch of awards that he did not deserve, we still got to see some amazing performances by the incredible Annie Lennox, Madonna, Sia, and of course Lady Gaga and Tony Bennet. But lets not talk about the performances because I will go for hours! As a fashion sage, I am here to break down the top ten looks from last nights red carpet and let me just say, the fashion was BROUGHT! Let us begin and I am going in Alphabetical Order!
1. Annie Lennox
Though the dress Annie wore might not have even been designer, one of my biggest idols showed the world that you don’t need designer labels to command the attention. Annie looked beautiful in a simple black dress and looked amazing. Seeing her on the red carpet and on stage showed the world that she is still here and still on top.
2. Beyonce in Proenza Schouler
Beyonce looked amazing (as always) in a floor length Proenza gown in all black. Beyonce’s red carpet looks are usually pretty simple. Light on the makeup and basic silhouettes. But this just comes to show, less is more and Beyonce does that better than anyone.
3. Gwen Stefani in Versace
We all know I am the biggest Versace fan out there and this look just comes to show why! Donatella has done it again and this time with the vampire, Gwen Stefani. Why do I call her a vampire you ask? Because she doesn’t age… obviously. I mean look at her. She hasn’t aged at all. She looks amazing! This jumpsuit is absolutely amazing and I absolutely love the detail of the bodice. Standing ovation!
4. Jessie J in Ralph & Russo
Jessie J has been killing it lately! Before Bang Bang with Ariana Grande and Nicki, I wasn’t a fan of her. But in the past year, she has become unstoppable. Not only has her music been catchy but her fashion has been on top! I am a big fan of transparency. This Ralph & Russo gown is flawless and head to toe and I love the hemming on the dress. This facing technique is becoming quite popular and I love it!
5. Katy Perry in Zuhair Murad
I am usually not a big fan of Katy Perry’s looks on the red carpet, but last night she looked absolutely amazing. Her hair was so lovely. That purple color looks so good on her and her makeup is on point. This dress by the talented Zuhair Murad really made Katy look so elegant and sophisticated. I really see Katy’s taste level improving quite dramatically and I am very happy about that.
6. Lady Gaga in Brandon Maxwell
Not only was Gaga my favorite look of the night, but she is my favorite in life all together to be honest. But I will refrain about talking about my obsession for Gaga and just focus on how GORGEOUS she looked at the last nights event. This Brandon Maxwell dress looks perfect on her and really fits her body in the best of ways. Gaga has a glow on her last night which brings me so much happiness and inspiration! Paws up mother!
7. Madonna in Givenchy
I can not tell you how excited I was to see Madonna show up to the Grammys last night and perform “Living for Love”. If you were to ask me, I would say “Living For Love” is one of the best songs she has ever done along with Vogue, Hung Up, Like a Prayer, Papa Don’t Preach, and more. It is that good. But enough about her performance, she looked amazing in some Givenchy. The black detailing was giving me life and I love how her matador look was seen on the carpet to collaborate with her new music video as well as her performance that would happen later that night. Excellent planning queen!
8. Miley Cyrus in Alexandre Vauthier
Miley Cyrus… ugh man what would I do to have a romantic night alone with Miley… She is so hot! Tonight she graced the red carpet in a all black (my favorite) Alexandre Vauthier dress. Of course my girl loves to show off some skim but we are the Grammys so we do have to class it up a little bit. So in a tasteful fashion, she wore cut-outs in the side of her dress. She looked flawless! I wouldn’t change a thing.
9. Nicki Minaj in Tom Ford
Like all of the kids are saying these days… My Anaconda DO like this look! This dress was perfecting in show off her beautiful body from head to toe. This all black look was perfect for her and her attitude on the red-carpet wen perfect along with it! I do have to say though… I do not like the fringe hanging from the bottom. Though I am sure it is not…it looks like cheap plastic that falls from the ceiling of stadiums during pop-star concerts. So pretty much I love the top part of this dress… Okay bye, next.
10. Taylor Swift in Ellie Saab
Trust me, I am not much of a T-Swizzle fan… but she KILLED IT last night on the red-carpet. This dress is absolutely perfect and I have been obsessed with this silhouette all night. Ellie Saab created a true piece of art that Taylor showed off in the most perfect way in a two-tone blue dress and even made it better with a contrasting purple heel. I just….I can’t this… this look was perfect. Good job Taylor.
Well that is a wrap. I have to say, I am very happy with the outcome of last nights Red Carpet. The celebs came out to win! If I had to pick a Top 3… I would say 3rd Place. Gwen Stefani in Versace. 2nd Place. Taylor Swift in Ellie Saab. and 1st Place. goes to Gaga in Brandon Maxwell! But enough about me, I want to know what you… my loyal readers have to say! So vote in the below poll and I will announce the winner within the week! So vote children and make sure your favorite wins in our Grammys 2015 poll!
