Hello everyone… I know you are all pretty shaken up right about now and I totally understand. I would just like to send out a big “piss off” to everyone who works on The Walking Dead after they named this episode “Thank You”. What is there to be thankful about damn it? Anyways, lets get this over with…
So this episode was focused on the crew who was diverting the herd away from Alexandria and of course things have gone in the complete wrong direction. At one point Rick tells Michonne to be careful and what not and he makes a comment that the new people aren’t going to make it. One of the new guys hears this and gets all bent out of shape over it, but really… Rick has a point. These Alexandrian’s just haven’t had the same experiences as our main group. Don’t tell me that one of these Alexandrian’s have just the same odds of surviving as Michonne does because that is nonsense.
Michonne and Glenn take the survivors and heasd off without Rick back towards town. They hold up in a pet store of some kind to try and wait for the herd to go by or something. But most of the survivors are hurt so time ends up being really against them and next thing you know the herd is basically mauling down the town they are in. Glenn and Nicholas the Screw-Up run to a feed-store so that they can shoot off some flares or something of that nature. After a gun shot incident in the pet store, Michonne is basically fighting off the herd trying to get these survivors out. Just like Rick said, basically all of them die a very tragic death…
Okay… so here we go. Glenn and Nicholas the Screw-Up are now being chased by the herd. They are running as fast as seemingly possible, but the Walkers are everywhere. Glenn and Nicholas the Screw-Up end up in a alley but the gate is locked or something so they can’t get through or over it because there was barbed wire on the top. Plus they have now taken way too long so now there are Walkers on both sides of the fence! This is a moment of real panic for both the characters and the audience. Glenn and Nicholas the Screw-Up get on top of the dumpster and continues to look out at the Walkers. Glenn shoots a few of them but there seems like no point. While Glenn is shouting at Nicholas the Screw-Up, Nicholas is having a moment where he blanks out. Everything goes quiet and he just gives the blankest stare. Nicholas the Screw-Up then looks at Glenn and says “Thank You” to him before putting his gun to his own head and blowing his brains own out. Nicholas the Screw-Up screws up one final time as his body falls into the crowd and drags Glenn down with him. The last thing we see is Glenn screaming in agony and guts being flung everywhere.
NOW WAIT. Before you get too upset, lets examine the evidence before we cry too hard!
Nicholas the Screw-Up could have easily fallen on top of Glenn which means Glenn is covered in Nicholas the maybe not so Screw-Up’s blood…
Therefore, Glenn could disguise himself as a Walker like he did in Season 1 Episode 2!
We did not actually see Glenn’s body being ripped apart… we only saw his head.
Glenn was NOT on the Talking Dead nor was he featured in the weekly “In Memoriam” segment…
Scott M. Gimple gave this quote last night after the show…
” Dear fans of The Walking Dead, this is a hard story to tell and when we were planning to tell we knew our friends at the Talking Dead would be talking to you about it and knowing you’d all be talking, and feeling and commiserating, I knew we should say something about it lest our silence say something we didn’t mean to say or not say, So I’ll say this: In some way, we will see Glenn, some version of Glenn or parts of Glenn again, either in flashback or in the current story to help complete the story.”
So… is Glenn dead? I am not sure. Do I think he is going to get out of this safe? No, probably not. But we will probably see Glenn get away somehow and maybe die at a sooner rather than later time. I just don’t see a way of Glenn getting out of this. But like I have been doing with Jon Snow for the past 5000 years, we have to stay positive. Glenn is one of the toughest characters we have. Maybe he will get away disguised and show up to Alexandria episodes later. Stay positive everyone…
Rick ran off at some point in the beginning… I mean running. Rick just ran as fast as he could along the route the Walkers went. I have no idea why he did this and at this point, I am just so confused. As the episode goes on Rick ends up in an RV and he tries to start it but it doesn’t work of course. Next thing you know, Rick is ambushed by the Wolves! Fortunately by this point, Rick has killed more people than the Joker so he fends off the attackers but spots more people around the corner so he grabs an AK-47 and takes care of them. It was crazy! But the gunfire attracts Walkers and the RV is surrounded. This part is crazy because when Rick was calling Glenn on the radio and he didn’t answer… Rick cursed Glenn’s name. Now, the R.V is surrounded with Rick outside. This is very similar to that moment in Season 1 when Rick was trapped inside the tank and Glenn had to rescue Rick via radio… But now Glenn isn’t there to help him…
By the looks of next weeks preview, we aren’t going to see how this story unfolds for a week or so because it looks like we’re getting a Morgan flashback. But until then, don’t be afraid of the dark and keep your family and friends close…..or if that doesn’t work, keep Carol close!
