I’M FINALLY BACK! Sorry for the absence of #THEWEEKINDRAG, December is a particularly hectic month for all of us I’m sure, and with my first venture to the US and Christmas etc I haven’t been able to post, so here’s a recap of not only this week but the previous weeks too!
I visited America for the first time this past December! I know. I’ve been living under a rock. I was lucky enough to visit New York City (home of WERRRK CEO Chiffon Dior no less) and even though this sadly wasn’t a drag focused holiday, I managed to sneak one gig in (sorry boyfriend). I managed to grab a last minute ticket to see the wonderful Ginger Minj at the exquisite Laurie Beechman Theatre. The show was hilarious, featuring Ginger and “friends”, it was a mix of Christmas, Hanukkah and Kwanzaa cheer, full to the brim with incredible vocals and picking on awkward looking individuals in the crowd. I also got to experience eating FOOD WITH DRAG for the first time. Can we do that in England now please? I also met up with fellow WERRRK.com featured writers and international pals, Jamie and Courtney AKA Drag Coven. Watch this space for more in upcoming Drag Coven/Meow adventures in 2016!
Enough about my adventures, the past few weeks also marked the Christmas Queens tour! Touring the successful Producer Entertainment album “Christmas Queens”, Alaska, Willam, Courtney, Sharon, Jinkx, Katya, Ginger and Jiggly have been touring the US spreading Christmas cheer and possibly crabs (I’m looking at you Willam. I jest. Wasn’t the last time you had crabs when you were like 14?). With a Donald Trump act from Sharon (evil never looked so good), festive green haired goddess looks from Alaska and possibly the best re-enactment of the choreography to “Jingle Bell Rock” from Mean Girls, it looked like a killer show.
Earlier this week, The Haus of Edwards took to Oilcan Harry’s in Austin, and in what could have been a nasty turn of events, Alyssa and Langanja lost their luggage. However, the girls took this challenge like absolute heroes and performed the show out of drag, and were still absolutely sickening. Check the video out here!

After like NINE MONTHS, our friends Drag Coven have released their parody video “We Really Like You”. The spoof tells a story that every drag fan can relate to, the twists and turns of idolising and rejoicing over men in wigs, running out of money (but certainly not glitter) and just general fan girl breakdowns. Check the video out below!

We’ve also all been melted over how stunning Adore Delano looks on the cover of this month’s Gay Times Magazine! Alongside being cover girl for GTM, Delano also bagged the cover of the wonderful “QUEEN” magazine, making her a double cover girl during the month of December! Adore also announced the title of her upcoming 2016 album “AFTERPARTY”. We can’t wait to hear it!
And finally, I have to share an amazing drag suicide performance that I saw online this past week by New York City drag queens Chelsea Piers and Holly Box-Springs. For those who don’t know, a drag suicide is when two queens alternate performing to clips of songs selected by the audience and the DJ but they have no idea what is coming and they have to perform regardless of if they know the number or not. Enjoy!

See you all next week for another all new edition of “The Week in Drag”! If you think we missed a story or if you have suggestion for next week, tweet us at @WERRRKdotcom and let us know!
