Well! Of all the episodes, this was definitely one of them. My mind is still racing after what I just saw. Let’s just get into it shall we?
So this episode takes place a few days or weeks after the recapture of Alexandria. Carl is bandaged up and walking around, the walls are holding up, and everyone is smiling! Classic Walking Dead nature! It’s like no one was torn apart or shot in the face last episode? Rick and Daryl decide to go out and look for supplies. Of course, they find a huge truck full of stuff and start driving it home and leave their nice car behind for now. But some guy named Jesus jumps Daryl and Rick while they are in a vending machine looking for Orange Crush. So now our two wise characters are running down the street chasing the truck full of kit-kat bars. Eventually they find him, get the truck back, and leave Jesus behind. But somehow he rides on top of the truck and attacks our characters in a field. In summary, the truck ends up in a lake and Jesus is knocked out so of course Rick and Daryl bring him back to Alexandria.
But then the episode takes a unusual turn. It begins with some hand holding… next thing you know we end on a image of Rick and Michonne naked in bed. What the hell!
The Fabulous
Where do I even begin? I guess my favorite part about this episode was definitely the unexpected romance. Apparently, people have been waiting for “Richonne” since the beginning of time. I never saw it coming. I think its kind of cute actually! I mean, I have been waiting Carol and Daryl to happen for forever but this… this I don’t know! It all happened so fast! I mean, I was tripping when they just started holding hands. But full on nudity! Bro, I was not ready. Okay lets take a minute to think about how this can go though… Ricks partners always die! Think about that people! So lets all put positive energy into the universe on this one.
The Tragic
Why are we introducing more characters? I understand we just had a random opening of positions with Alexandria, but couldn’t we just wait an episode or two before we leave Alexandria and chase a guy named Jesus all over the country. I wish this show would take a moment to look at the stories we have, instead of just throwing random bits in the timeline even if it is based off a comic. Some of our characters have hardly gotten any screen time this season. Ahem, CAROL!!
Episode MVP
Rick is the true MVP of this episode. By day, he is kicking ass and chasing homeless dudes with trucks. By night, he is getting some action with a samurai. I mean, Rick was going for it! All it took was a little hand touch, and Rick was off like Blanche Devereaux at a sailor convention. He made it happen and for that, we kind of thank you?
Really, this episode was pretty boring. Everything that was interesting happened in the last two minutes. But hey, a new budding romance. That could be fun. If anything, lets all be thankful because I can finally use this gif.
