Question: Condragulations on making the top four of So You Think You Can Drag! Especially with the level of talent this season, its quite an achievement. Have you had a moment to reflect back on what you have already accomplished yet?
Thanks!! I actually have that “Dancing with the Stars-eqsue montage of greatest moments” playing on repeat in my head (I swear I’m not crazy). It feels like a journey that has come full circle! And I’m honored to be apart of this top 4 and this group of tight knit girls that walked in together on week 1.
Question: What do you think was your personal highlight and lowlight of the season so far?
My personal highlight was for sure when I morphed on stage as the Pink Ranger at week 4’s inner child week. I had Rita, Tommy the evil green ranger, putty patrols, and it was truly the start of my “treat sized production numbers”. I got called the one to beat that week, MY COUSINS WERE THERE, my look was right, and the choreography was innovative and never been done. But nothing beat the stone cold dead expression of the audience at the first minute of the song when they couldn’t figure out what teenager I was emulating, until Rita popped up and I just ripped off everything in one clean swoop and kicked the number into overdrive.
My personal lowlight was definitely week 5. It just wasn’t my week and I wasn’t as prepared as I should’ve been. I was going first, my wig came off, my reveal opened too early. I was defeated halfway through the number.
Question: How would you describe your experience on SYTYCD? What was it like to work with Paige Turner and all other amazing guest judges that have come through?
My experience has been one of perseverance and growth. I’ve had to overcome personal demons in the form of coming out to my parents about drag, I lost a sublet I was staying at halfway through, I had $400 stolen from a dancer that flaked the day of our week together. But I kept telling myself that it’s just the universe questioning me if I really wanted to do this that bad. And with the reassurance of Paige, Kizha, Andrew, Sutton, Alexis, Marti and the whole crew of New World Stages, I pushed through it all. I guess you could say I…broke free. BADUMCHHHHHHH
Question: So without spoiling anything, what can we expect from you in the finale?
I actually will only be doing one trenta sized production number to cap off an excellent body of work that Ive put together for myself. However, my finale piece will be straight out of left field. I can’t wait.
Question: Any you want to plug before we wrap up?
Can I plug my gofundme to pay off my costume bills? *Laughs*
Question: Best of luck to you on the 1oth! It really was a pleasure getting to know you and the entire cast backstage this season. Do you have any final words of wisdom to leave the WERRRK.com universe with?
AWWWW thank you!! I’m going to miss you and Strawberry’s cute interviews that I always seem to turn into a dirty bathroom joke! In terms of advice, Id say that the universe has perfect timing, simply adapt to the obstacle in front of you and the way through will become clear.
