Hello friends! Can you believe it, another season has ended. Let me put this into perspective, this season began on October 23rd, 2016. That was the week where our now president was talking about filing lawsuits against the women who were accusing Trump of unwanted sexual advances. That is how long ago this season started! This season started long ago with Negan, bashing in the heads of Glenn and Abraham. So much has happened. We met the all-female cast by the coast, Carol moved into a luxurious apartment, we were introduced to “The Kingdom” and that dope ass tiger… We even got a little tribute to “Mad Max: Beyond the Thunderdome” with that scary walker in the “Scavengers” hang out. The list goes on and on. All in all, I think this was an amazing season. As much as we all hate Negan, this story-line is very rich and I can’t get enough of it. At first I thought by introducing so many different groups, this show would just fall apart. But if anything, I was just pulled in deeper. This season brought in a very “Game of Thrones” house system to the mix and I think it was really important in terms of keeping the show interesting. If you were sick of Rick, you could always just cheer on The Hilltop, The Kingdom, The Oceanside, The Scavengers, or if you are really sick… The Saviors. This season, The Walking Dead, expanded the world beyond the walls of Alexandria and I think it really payed off. So now, lets break down the season finale episode like we always do.
The Fabulous
This episode was so fun! I loved the whole war scene. It was just so cool to see all these troops running across the field. Though the battle didn’t turn out exactly how I was hoping, it was still pretty freaking cool! Okay the Tiger leaping on that man and eating his face off was not something I think any of us was expecting when we watched that first episode years ago with the dead girl dragging the teddy bear. But I enjoyed watching Negan actually be slightly scared for once and running for his life. Also, I basically screamed with excitement when Carol and friends showed up to join the fight. This episode was just one big bad-ass zombie apocalypse version of the “Chronicles of Narnia” and I loved every second of it. This cast is so perfect and I don’t think I could ever put this show down. I feel way connected to these stories. Such a perfect episode. Well done everyone.
The Tragic
Eugene, one day you will die a painful death and I will not even blink an eye… Why is Eugene so annoying? I just… he won’t go away. Even the priest character is being a bad ass, shooting up The Saviors while Eugene was out there working for Negan. If Eugene tried to rejoin Alexandria I would tell him to get a life. I am also very sad about the Milla Jovovich look-alike leader of The Scavengers turning on Rick. I had good hopes for these people. Jadis is a dope character and I was hoping we got to see her bad ass side tonight but instead she pulled a gun on Rick…. Damn it! Such high hopes! Well, hopefully Jadis gets her “Fifth Element” moment next season. Also, Jadis and Rick hooking up… I would watch that. Another tragic moment of this episode is in the fact that we are left once again with another cliffhanger. Damn you! We literally have to wait until October most likely. Trump could have destroyed everything three times by the time we get to start watching the show again… Ugh the picture below makes me sad… Damn you Jadis!
The Season MVP
Aside from the very entertaining war, we did lose someone very special. Sasha Williams. Sasha has been with us ever since her and Tyrese broke into the prison to find shelter back in season 3. Sasha has been there with us through the Governor, Terminus, the sickness that wiped out the prison, the Governor again, and much more. Sasha has been a huge part of this show and honestly I can’t imagine what it’ll be like without her. Sasha was a true bad ass and she went out with such heroism. That is why, Sasha is not only the Episode MVP.. but the Season MVP for staying strong through the death of her lover and doing her absolute best to destroy evil. I bow to you Sasha. Sonequa is an amazing actress and she brought so much style to Sasha. I will miss her! She was even bad ass as a walker and that says a lot!
Wow, I can’t believe it… Another season has come and gone! This was a great episode in a very awesome season! I can’t wait until next year. Honestly, I have no idea how this will play out for once so I am so excited to see how this works. I would love to thank each and every one of you for sticking with me throughout this season. I can’t wait to talk with you all again. Until then, I will be slipping into a coma until Game of Thrones starts again. I will talk to you all again in October! Congratulations everyone, that is a wrap!
