Hello everyone! The most high-fashion night of the year has arrived, the Met Gala! Every year on the first Monday of May… the biggest names in the industry head on down to the Metropolitan Museum of Art in their red carpet ELEGANZA to celebrate the Costume Institute’s new exhibition “Rei Kawakubo/Comme des Garçons: Art of the In-Between.” As always, the celebrities did NOT disappoint. Designers, Models, Actors, Singers… who knows will show up! I have compiled a list of my favorite looks of the night! Don’t forget to comment to let us know your favorite look at the end of this article! Lets hit the runway people!
Katy Perry wearing Custom Maison Margiela
Katy Perry served as one of the co-chairs of this exhibition. She glided across the carpet in a beautiful red Maison Margiela gown.
Aymeline Valade wearing Marni and Francesco Risso
Aymeline Valade is wearing Marni and Francesco Risso. I love this suit so much! The french model stunned. Honestly, Hillary Clinton should have worn this on the campaign trail.
Tracee Ellis Ross wearing Comme des Garçons
Tracee Ellis Ross rocked my world wearing a typical Comme des Garçons ensemble. I love this. Look at those shoes!
Donatella Versace and Kylie Jenner in Atelier Versace
My queen, Donatella Versace, SLAYED the carpet. She is wearing a golden Versace gown. On her arm is Kylie Jenner wearing a see-through Versace gown. They both look fabulous. Commonly, I feel like people love to hate Kylie. But come on, this gown looks good on her. This couple is one of my favorites of the night.
Kendall Jenner in La Perla Couture
Kendall Jenner showed up in the MOST see-through La Perla gown. I LOVE this dress. I am a big Kendall fan, mostly because she is freaking gorgeous. Just look at that fabric. It looks almost like chain-mail and that is bad-ass… Kendall is just so nice to look at… Okay moving on…
Rick Owens and Michele Lamey wearing Comme des Garçons
Guys… Michele Lamey showed up. I am GAGGED. Michele is such a bad-ass. I love this whole look. Honestly, this is one of my favorite couples. They are just so fierce together. Michele is wearing Comme des Garçons
Mary-Kate and Ashley Olson
Oh my GOD. I love the Olson Twins. They just give off fashion with a look. I love their make-up, their dresses. I have never seen the Olson Twins show up and disappoint. Bravo!
Elle Fanning wearing Miu Miu
Elle looks like a beautiful princess. She looks like Cate Blanchett as Galadriel in The Lord of the Rings. Elle is just a literal angel in this Miu Miu gown.
Blake Lively wearing Atelier Versace
This is one of my favorite looks of the nights. The gold moving into the feathers… Ugh, I love this love! Blake pulled out another Versace gown and once again slayed.
Ruth Negga wearing Valentino
Ruth Negga is wearing a structured Valentino dress. She looks great and I love the textile. It looks as though it was hand painted and that is beautiful.
Rihanna wearing Fall 2016 Comme des Garçons
Rihanna is wearing Comme des Garçons. Rihanna has been picked as the Best Dressed by many people at this years Met Gala. I honestly love this look but I don’t think it is the best look of the night. It’s cool and I love it. I just am not IN LOVE with it. Make sense? No… okay.
Bella Hadid wearing Alexander Wang
I love this Alexander Wang body suit. Bella Hadid looks so sexy. Just… oh my gosh she looks so hot. I love it. Honestly, I think Bella just took the top Hadid Sister spot.
Courtney Love and Frances Bean Cobain wearing Marc Jacobs
Air!!! I need air! Courtney Love and her fabulous daughter showed up and they look stunning in Marc Jacobs. I idolize Courtney Love so it’s am exciting moment when Courtney makes a rare red-carpet experience. I’m not crazy about her eye-shadow but hey… I will take what she gives me. Frances on the other hand looks just as beautiful. This is by far the best mother-daughter duo of all time. Rock on ladies.
Sarah Paulson wearing Prada
You all know I love me some Sarah Paulson. She looks amazing. This time she chose something a little more minimalist and it really payed off.
Celine Dion wearing Atelier Versace
YES QUEEN! Celine Dion showed up and she is not taking any prisoners with this Versace look. My only dislike is in the little straps on her right side. I wish they were black. Other than that, Celine looks amazing. Donatella can literally do no wrong. How is this possible?
Anna Wintour wearing Chanel
Editor in Chief of Vogue, Anna Wintour was one of the first to arrive. She looks beautiful as always. I love this women and this Chanel gown. Ohhh, she knows how to lead a runway.
Halle Berry in Atelier Versace
Halle Berry is back with another Versace gown. I love the gold flower details in the train. Such a good look on her. Hey, she went with a short hair style and I think it looks so much better on her than the Oscars I covered a few months ago.
Ugh this was a perfect night for fashion. There were soooo many great looks out there. Now, I have no idea who the Best Dressed of the Met Gala was… But I can give a top three? How is that? Okay so my favorites have to be Donatella with Kylie Jenner, Kendall Jenner, and Blake Lively with the golden gown and blue feather train. Well done ladies! Too much fashion for one night I am going to die.
That is all for me folks. This was definitely a Met Gala to remember and I can’t wait until next years event. I will see you all at the next red-carpet event! Thank you so much for reading.
