Hi Robbie! It’s been a hot minute since we last talked. How have you been girl?
I have been wonderful. Living the dream. I just didn’t know that while you live the dream, you don’t sleep! *Laughs* But in all seriousness, I can’t complain.
How have things changed for you since you were on Drag Race in terms of how the fans react to you and perceive you?
Well, the fans are lovely. The ones I’ve met have definitely been kind, gracious and ecstatic during and after the shows. Funny though, many fans usually say, “Wow, you’re so much nicer and prettier in person.” I just laugh because what they don’t realize is on the show you’re doing a million things at once. You definitely have no time to overthink anything. Before it happens, it’s over.
I was very excited when I heard you were bringing your show, “I’ll Tell You For Free” to the Laurie Beechman Theatre (Get your tickets here. We’ll wait for you). As a Pacific Northwest gal, how do you feel about plying your trade in the Big Apple?
I’m quite excited to play the Laurie Beechman Theatre. When I was in NYC a couple months ago for the Counter Couture exhibit at MAD brilliantly curated by Michael Cepress, I stopped by the theatre to view the space. On my way out I had a run-in with Chita Rivera. I take that as a good sign.
The Laurie Beechman Theatre has really become THE place for drag cabaret in New York City. What can people expect from your upcoming show?
My show is based off of my book of the same name. It revolves around hilarious stories from my childhood all the way up until my time on Drag Race. I’ve always been an avid writer, so this is exciting for me to put the book up and see the people respond to the marriage of drag, authorship and song.
You’ve been involved in the popular Capitol Hill webseries, had a successful run at the Hard Rock Cafe in Seattle and now it seems like you’re traveling more than ever. Which kind of goals do you have for yourself in your proverbial drag bucket list?
I’m looking forward to putting my revue on film. I really think the world is ready for a variety show, much like The Carol Burnett Show, a revival if you will and I am JUST the queen to do it.
For your fans not in the New York area, where else will they be able to see you in the coming months? What is the best way for them to keep tabs on your adventures? For the record, I heartily endorse people following you on social media just for the unbelievable stories of the things that happen to you when you’re out and about.
Oh start! I am a quirky gal on social media, that’s for sure (Follow Robbie on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter). Gosh, where am I traveling next? I am traveling everywhere, so pay attention to my social media, I’m constantly posting pictures and posters of upcoming events! Also, if you JUST CAN’T get enough, I am going on multiple cruises with Al & Chuck Cruise Line to Russia, Germany, Cuba & Australia! So spend a whole week with me!
Thank you so much for your time Robbie. I am looking forward to seeing your show this weekend. Do you have any final words of wisdom to leave the WERRRK.com readers with?
Let’s get ALL THE PICTURES! I absolutely LOVE our chats! Kisses!
