We are very proud and excited to announce the second cycle of the Miss Bio-WERRRK Online Drag Pageant! When this site was first launched and again when we announced our inaugural drag pageant in the summer of 2015, I quoted one of my heroes Walt Disney,
“You can design and create, and build the most wonderful place in the world. But it takes people to make the dream a reality.”
In that vein, we’re looking for queens that best represent our core values here at WERRRK.com: Creativity, Respect, Imagination, Passion and Humor. In 2015, we added the Bio Queen of the Year Award to our year ends awards and got an overwhelming response from the voters who named Miss Kat Sass as our first ever winner. At that point we realized that having a bio queen pageant to pair with our existing drag pageant was definitely viable and we began preparations on the event. Our first Miss Bio-WERRRK pageant was a big success and when the smoke cleared, Nashville’s Monroe Fitzgerald was crowned our first winner!
The Miss Bio-WERRRK 2017 pageant is open to lady queens, bioqueens, hyper queens and non binary queens, 21 years old and over, from the United States and Canada. The pageant is a multi week event, requiring a new video from each contestant each period; so if you cannot commit to the entire pageant, please do not apply. There will be no eliminations – a running tally of scores will be kept, just like a traditional pageant, until we crown a winner at the end. Contestants will be scored by a panel of judges from WERRRK.com, weekly guest judges, and a weekly fan vote. The pageant will consist of these five categories (one every week):
- Themed Presentation
- Pure Lip Sync Talent
- Anything Goes Talent
- “On Stage” Question
- Creative Eveningwear
No pageant is complete without a lavish prize package and Miss Bio-WERRRK 2017 will hopefully not disappoint in that regard, including a crown and sash, a cash prize and more. We will be announcing additional prizes during the lead up to the pageant and we will be announcing our special guest judges over the coming weeks as well.
We are limiting participation to probably no more than 8 contestants, so if you think you have what it takes, email chiffondior@gmail.com and request an application with the subject title “Application request for insert drag name” or if you have any questions, you can message Chiffon on Facebook. The final day we will be accepting applications is August 16th!
