Wow, can you believe a year has passed since that last Golden Globes incredible red carpet where we witnessed the birth of the “Times Up” movement? Follow this link in case you are interested in the 2018 red carpet recap.
Last night’s show was great! Though I will say I was a little confused by some of the winners, the red carpet was full of some serious moments. I am so excited to talk about them all with you so let’s get this going!
Charlize Theron wearing Dior
Charlize Theron is just perfection. The dress is a simple Dior, but that glare just kills me every-time. I love it!
Carol Burnett

It was such a treat seeing the legend that is Carol Burnett. I mean what can I even say, she is incredible. All hail, Carol Burnett.
Kiki Layne wearing Dior

Kiki Layne is wearing a light pink Dior gown and it looks so nice on her. I love the cage built into the bodice and that color is really great.
Emily Blunt wearing Alexander McQueen

I have been stuck on this dress, but I have decided that I do in fact like it. Emily Blunt was serving it up in a McQueen dress, and I am here for it! It’s very dark yet cheerful which kind of gives and ode to both Mary Poppins and her character from A Quiet Place.
Lady Gaga wearing Valentino

Well, I am gagged. Lady Gaga is a winner once again in a beautiful custom Valentino gown. Gaga just looks so amazing every single time and she did not disappoint. Everyone was literally waiting for Gaga to hit that red carpet. Once she did, it was like the whole world stopped. I can’t wait to see what she wears to the Oscars.
Lupita Nyong’o wearing Calvin Klein

Seriously, Lupita Nyong’o is a fashion icon. I love this color on her and that textile is literally dripping in opulence. Ugh, thank you Calvin Klein!
Danai Gurira wearing Rodarte

If Lupita was the water sign, Danai Gurira is the fire sign. Though the dress kind of blends with the carpet at some point, Danai looks seriously amazing. May I say, this Rodarte dress is fire? Wakanda Forever.
Janelle Monáe wearing Chanel

Speaking of fashion icons, Janelle Monáe looked amazing last night. Janelle is giving me Cleopatra living in New York City vibes and I love it. This Chanel outfit is seriously fierce.
Nicole Kidman wearing Michael Kors

Is Nicole Kidman capable of doing anything wrong? The answer is no. The immortal Nicole wore a scarlet Michael Kors dress and…. woah I need air. Why is she so perfect…?
Gemma Chan wearing Valentino

Gemma Chan wore a fabulous Valentino gown. It’s a pretty common silhouette but she really brought it to life last night. I love that soothing blue color against the bright red carpet. Amazing!
Saoirse Ronan in Gucci

One of my picks for last year’s best dressed, Saoirse Ronan wore a stunning Gucci dress. I love the metallic textile of this dress. It looks almost like a beautiful armor dress and I am here for it!
Regina King wearing Alberta Ferretti

Regina King KILLED the red carpet last night. This is a silhouette we have seen before; but the metallic pink textile is so fierce. This was one of my favorite looks for sure!
Sandra Oh wearing Stella McCartney

Not only did she do a fantastic job hosting, but Sandra Oh was a serious winner on the red carpet. Sandra wore a Stella McCartney dress. That shoulder is giving me life!
Olivia Colman wearing Stella McCartney

Olivia Colman gave my favorite acceptance speech ever last night. Plus, she killed it on the red carpet in a Stella McCartney. It’s a simple dress but that yoke textile really grabbed my attention. I love the caped sleeves combined with that metallic textile too. Oh!
Lucy Liu wearing Galia Lahav

I was so excited to see Lucy Liu and it was well worth the wait. This dress is literal art and I feel like it should it be in a museum. Props to Galia Lahav!
Kristen Bell wearing Zuhair Murad

Kristen Bell was wearing Zuhair Murad last night who happens to be one of my favorite designers. As always, Kristen Bell looked stunning! It’s a simple dress, yet she really sells it.
Emmy Rossum wearing Monique Lhuillier

This is probably my favorite look Emmy Rossum has ever been seen in. That pink color of the Monique Lhuillier gown looks so fantastic on her. I am so into it.
Taraji P. Henson wearing Vera Wang

Taraji P. Henson is a red carpet queen. I have never seen her wear something I didn’t like and the Golden Globes did not change that. Taraji sported a Vera Wang dress which was a popular designer last night. If you are new to the red carpet, just watch Taraji as she has some tips.
Thandie Newton wearing Michael Kors

Ahhh! One of my favorites! Thandie Newton was here representing Westworld and she made us all proud. This Michael Kors dress is sickening and works perfectly for her. I wouldn’t change a thing. This bodice shape was actually quite popular last night.
Penelope Cruz
wearing Ralph & Russo

Penelope Cruz wore a black and purple galaxy inspired Ralph & Russo dress and I love it! It gives me a black hole type of vibe which is seriously cool. All of my favorite colors were incorporated into this dress. Ugh, I wish Penelope won her category last night…. She is a winner!
Jamie Lee Curtis
wearing Alexander McQueen

Jamie Lee Curtis came, she saw, and she conquered. I just love her. This Alexander McQueen outfit is seriously perfect. It has the right amount of sexy, while also demonstrating her high amounts of bad-assness. Yes, I just said bad-assness. All hail the Scream Queen.
Rosamund Pike wearing Givenchy

This look really stood out to me. The shape of this Givenchy gown is just so interesting to me plus with the combination of the see through fabrics and cut-out panels, this outfit really is one of the best I saw last night. Well done, Rosamund Pike!
Judith Light

I’ve said it before, and I will say it again. No one seems to out red-carpet Judith Light. She is just way too amazing at this. I mean look at that pose. It should be every designers goal to dress Judith Light from now on.
Mj Rodriguez

Come on, POSE! Mj Rodriguez looks like a dream! I am just so proud of her and everything POSE has accomplished. She came to slay that red-carpet! Tens across the board.
Constance Wu wearing Vera Wang

Constance Wu looked like a real-life angel last night in Vera Wang. I love the color of that gown plus the structural design of the bodice. This gown fits her really well and really left a lasting impression on the carpet.
Glenn Close wearing Armani Privé

Before going to win a well deserved award, Glenn Close stunned in a beautiful Armani Privé gown. This was one of my favorite looks tonight because it was simple , yet I feel like it was for legends only. It had a fantastic cape attached to it plus the jewels payed tribute to the Times Up organization.
Rachel Brosnahan wearing Prada

Rachel Brosnahan wore a vibrant yellow Prada gown to the red carpet. Looking back at this gown now, I actually really love it! The color looks great on her and the detail in the back is very attractive. I give it a toot!
Final Thoughts
Wow, what a great red-carpet. Honestly, there were so many looks. I don’t know how I could possibly pick a favorite? Alright, let’s try a “Top 3” at least? Okay, here we go! My picks for Top Three are…?

Yes, my top three picks for Best Dressed go to Lupita Nyong’o, Nicole Kidman, and Lady Gaga. The three of them seriously killed it and I am just so happy!
