Hey there everyone! Welcome back to to another edition of “What The Walking Dead“! In the recent episode, “Chokepoint“, Daryl and Connie organize a trap for The Whisperers. At the same time, Ezekiel and Carol are dealing with issues on the road to the highly anticipated fair. We have a lot to discuss so let’s get to it, shall we? If you missed last week’s recap, catch up by following this link.
The Highwaymen
So a new group has been introduced to the show. After a little hold up on the road, Carol and Ezekiel are served with a ransom letter. Basically, if people are going to pass through to the fair, they are going to have to pay a toll to the Highwaymen. Instead of ordering a kill-mission, Carol and Ezekiel go to the Highwaymen to talk. As per usual, the Highwaymen draw weapons on them but luckily Ezekiel had a ambush ready and the situation was diffused.
To make peace, Ezekiel offers them all jobs to protect the roads. After the Highwaymen laugh and reject, Carol steps up as always and lets the Highwaymen know that they now can play movies at the Kingdom. This was a offer they couldn’t refuse, and the Highwaymen join the Kingdom. Well, I wish every situation was as easy as this. This is why Carol is the best character. She could either blow your brains out, or offer you some cookies and a good movie. Either way, CAROL WILL ALWAYS WIN. PERIOD!
Daryl Vs. Beta
Finally, the match up we have all been waiting for! The highly anticipated battle between Daryl and Beta. After Henry and Lydia are saved by Daryl and Connie, the team hide up in a tall building as a way to break off the hunting Whisperers from the crowds of Walkers.
Then, the moment finally comes. Connie and Henry take on a group of the Whisperers in a dark room. Henry’s punk ass gets pretty tore up but Daryl’s noble dog saved him. On the other side of the building, Daryl takes on Beta and his henchmen all on his own. There is blood, punches, stabs, slashes, and wall smashes. I feel like I am watching an episode of Game of Thrones. Finally, Daryl hides in a trapdoor and the tank that is Beta runs past him. Daryl pushes Beta off the ground and into a empty elevator shaft. Boo yah!
Of course as our characters are happily skipping home (or in Henry’s case… limping), Beta stands up at the bottom of the elevator shaft. He just won’t die!
In Summation
Beta is basically a physical apparition of my anxiety. No matter what you stab it with, it just won’t go die! Daryl’s dog is the episode MVP now, and always! I would not be surprised if the Highwaymen sit down for a movie, and Carol changed out the film like Inglorious Bastards and blow them all to pieces. Oh god, Henry and Lydia kissing, right in front of my salad?! Connie may not speak, but she can still read a bitch – Daryl. Also, I would give up my seemingly hopeless dream of Carol and Daryl getting together for a Daryl and Connie relationship. So we really are going to have to be scared of that Beta guy some more, huh?
Well that episode was fun. I love me a good fight scene. With only three episodes left of this season, things are really going to start hitting the fan. Don’t go anywhere! Let me know what you thought of this week’s episode, and check out the preview for next week. I will see you all then!
