Congratulations James on being named a headliner! How did you get involved with the Austin International Drag Festival and what does this opportunity mean to you?
Yassss thank you!!!! I’m so excited to come back to Austin International Drag Fest! This is my second year getting to celebrate my birthday with so many queens from across the globe! Drag Fest means so much to me because it represents real drag & drag that isn’t always put in the spotlight! I’m so excited to see all the performers who are going to slay the weekend!
For those people living under a rock, can you tell us a little bit about James Majesty and your drag?
You probably recognize me from The Boulet Brothers Dragula S2 or my non-award winning album “Pervert” on iTunes. My drag is a big fuck you to society. I like to take social norms and twist them to bring attention to them, most call me problematic, I call myself beautiful!
We can’t wait to see what you’re planning on bringing to the stage in Austin! Can you give the WERRRK .com universe a little tease of what’s to come this fall in Texas?
Last year I gave the audience a little more than a tease, but this year I’m bringing out the big guns and making politics the main focus!
