RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars was back again after last week’s drama-filled episode where India Ferrah dropped the bomb (or started the rumor, depending on how you feel) that Alexis Mateo was conspiring to get Shea Couleé eliminated. Shea and Alexis continued the conversation at the beginning of the episode. Alexis was embarrassed and upset because she thought India was her friend. Shea also revealed that the queens remaining in the competition unanimously voted for India to go home.
It was a new day in the workroom and RuPaul revealed the ball challenge! One of the looks the queens had to create had to be constructed with things that would be found in your backyard. Jujubee was the hot glue queen of the season, but she’s so-so with sewing. Shea had experience with costume design, but it was Miz Cracker who grew up making costumes with garbage.
Shea was helping everyone in the workroom construct their outfits and everything was going great when Blair St. Clair discovered a note and present from India. It seems like everyone but Jujubee got a note, even Alexis. Since she didn’t get her own note, Juju read Alexis’ and made it worse than it actually was. Turns out, it said she still loved her? I have no idea what’s happening here.
When RuPaul did his rounds through the workroom as the queens were prepping their looks, Shea revealed that while filming season 9 she got the news her father’s cancer was back. Before the cast was announced, he passed away. She was looking forward to having her father’s support while the season aired. Shortly after her father passed away, her sister did as well. Following Shea’s story, Juju shared that after her father passed away when she was a teenager, her mother left the family. Her sisters were sent to foster homes while she got to live with her aunt. Two heartbreaking stories back-to-back. Even RuPaul was crying!
On a lighter note, it was time for the queens to showcase their looks on the mainstage. Joining Ru on the panel this week was Michelle Visage, Carson Kressley, and Bebe Rexha. RuPaul’s sister and other family members were on the stage as the queens showed their country cousin realness looks! She also revealed she performed in drag at the Charles family reunion once, with video evidence! I’m not sure I had a favorite look for the country cousin couture segment as they were all… uh… very good, but Jujubee had me laughing. As for the backyard realness looks, my favorites were definitely Cracker and Shea, but Juju looked wonderful as well.
As for the critiques, Cracker got the highest praise, with Juju and Shea coming in close with the positive critiques. I appreciated how Cracker and Juju shared that Shea helped them with their looks with the judges. When it came to negative critiques, if there was a bottom two, Alexis and Blair would be there. They just fell flat this week. Cracker took home the win and who could go home was fair game.
It was time for Miz Cracker to lip-sync for her legacy against a lip-sync assassin. This week, it was miss thick and juicy herself, Roxxxy Andrews. They faced off to Ariana Grande‘s One Last Time. Both queens were great, but it was Roxxxy who stole the show. She won the lip-sync and revealed who the group had voted to eliminate. The queens had selected Alexis.
I’ll see you next week as we watch the top four queens compete in a stand up comedy show down!
