After Alexis Mateo sashayed away last week, the final four of RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars 5 was decided. Shea Couleé, Jujubee, Blair St. Clair, and Miz Cracker were fighting for their place in the top three. This week, they’d face off in a standup comedy smackdown to cement their place in the finale.
After Alexis’ elimination, it was revealed that Miz Cracker selected to eliminate… Alexis! She had us all fooled that she had chose someone in the room’s lipstick, but she voted with the pack. Aside from her own vote, it was unanimous.
After RuPaul announced the queens would be competing in a standup comedy show, Cracker had to decide the order of the show, being that she won last week. Her strategy? Put the best in the front, which meant Jujubee was opening. Second would be Blair, who everyone thinks has been funny this season? I guess I missed it? She’d go third, and Shea would close the show. Cracker was very honest about her intentions.
When it was time for the queens to practice their routines with Ross Matthews, they were surprised by coach Jane Krakowski! Was anyone else beyond excited to see her on the show?! No, I was not, because every single queen was thrilled! My favorite part was when Jane shared that she is a “big follower” of Blair on Instagram. When it came to the comedy, however, it seemed like there was work to do from everyone.
Finally, it was time for the queens to hit the main stage with their comedy routines. On the judges’ panel, Ru was joined by Michelle Visage, Ross Matthews, Sam Richardson, and Jane Krakowski, who was allergic to wig dander and lost her voice.
For the comedy performance, Jujubee was a slow but steady performance. Blair, who followed her, didn’t bounce back the way Jujubee did. Her performance was a bit awkward and none of her jokes really landed. Miz Cracker was, you guessed it, strong! Her comedy is always on point. Shea closed out the show and for being the one who was the most nervous, she did well. She was actually my favorite. I really enjoyed how she poked fun at the season 9 finally.
On the runway, the category was “oooh! Freak out!”. This runway theme felt very club kid to me. Did Miz Cracker predict the pandemic of 2020 with that plague doctor inspired look? I really enjoyed the runway this week. I thought everyone looked good. As for critiques, they were to be expected. Juju got high praise for her look and the end of her performance where she found momentum. Blair’s look was well-loved, but her performance was not. Jane loved Miz Cracker’s performance so much she was ready to join a throuple with her and Ross. Shea also received positive critiques for her performance, especially for her ability to make jokes about season 9. In the end, Cracker won the challenge, leaving Blair, Jujubee, and Shea all in the bottom.
The queens had a hard time deciding whose lipstick they were going to put into the box. Over the course of the competition, the four of them had grown close. Plus, the competition was SO tight. It all came down to the lipsync Kennedy Davenport was this week’s lipsync assassin. It’s always incredible to see Kennedy perform! Cracker and Kennedy faced off to Fancy by Reba Mcentire. I have to say, the performance was a little lackluster. Kennedy didn’t pull out any of her stops! Cracker took home the win and sent Blair St. Clair packing.
Well y’all, we did it! We made it to the end of another season of Drag Race. Next week, we will see yet another queen inducted into the Drag Race hall of fame. Which team are you on? Team Shea? Team Jujubee? Or Team Cracker? Sound off in the comments below!
