After last week’s surprising elimination, RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars was back with a bang! The queens returned to the workroom and chatted about how Yara Sofia ultimately gave up when she was in the bottom. Everyone voted to eliminate Yara, while Jan who won the challenge chose A’Keria C. Davenport‘s lipstick. Shocking! She thought the group was going to eliminate A’Keria. That was a bit awkward.
After that interesting lipstick reveal, the queens were back for another challenge. RuPaul entered the workroom to share that this week’s challenge would be a group challenge. The queens would be creating their own talk show. Team one consisted of Kylie Sonique Love, Ra’Jah O’Hara, and Scarlet Envy, team two consisted of Eureka O’Hara, Trinity K. Bonet, and A’Keria, and the final team was made up of Ginger Minj, Pandora Boxx, and Jan.
The picking of the topics was interesting. Ginger wanted the motherhood topic because she is in the process of attempting to have a child in real life. Scarlet wanted it because she is close to her two moms. They did rock paper scissors and Scarlet won. So, Team Scarlet got motherhood. Ra’Jah struggles with her relationship with her mother, so she was worried about this topic. Meanwhile, Team Ginger was given the topic of body. Pandora struggles with her body image and wasn’t really keen on this topic choice. While Team Eureka, Trinity, and A’Keria celebrated their topic, which was sex. Trinity was ready to take this as an opportunity to speak out about being HIV positive.
Eureka, Trinity, and A’Keria’s segment was interesting. A’Keria opened up about living as a transgender woman at one point in her life while Trinity opened up about her HIV status. I thought they had a very insightful conversation. Team Scarlet had a great conversation as well. Scarlet sharing her life with two moms while Ra’Jah opened up about her experience with a pastor mother was moving. Team Ginger also had a powerful conversation about body image. I don’t know how the judges are going to judge this one. Everyone was so vulnerable!
On the main stage, Ru was joined by Michelle Visage, Ross Matthews, and Ayesha Tyler. The category for the runway was clash of the patterns. This category was a lot of fun. I liked a lot of the looks on the runway this week, but I think Ginger was my favorite. Ginger was actually the winner of the challenge this week even though Team Eureka was the best group of the week. As for the bottom, Scarlet, Kylie, and Jan all were up for elimination.
Backstage, there was some drama between the bottom queens. Scarlet tried to say she had rave reviews when hers were arguably the worst? RuPaul herself said she made her uncomfortable! I don’t know, that was a lot!
It was time for everyone’s favorite part of the show, the lipsync assassin reveal! It was none other than Bianca Del Rio. Wait… What? The queen who never lip synced?! Incredible. Well, not really. She just made an appearance. The real assassin was Mayhem Miller! They faced off to Phone by Lizzo. That performance was so good. They were both feeding off each other which was fun. Finally, a contestant won! Ginger decided to split her prize with her teammates for helping her get the win. Okay, how cute is that?
Now it was the moment of truth. Someone had to go home. The power was all in Ginger’s hands. Her choice? Scarlet. It’s a bummer to see her go but I think Ginger made the right choice. What do you think? Sound off in the comments below and let us know!
