The queens of RuPaul’s Drag Race All-Stars were back in the workroom after last week’s elimination of Scarlet Envy. Ginger Minj briefly celebrated her win before Pandora Boxx opened up the box of lipsticks. It turns out, there was a tie. Ra’Jah O’Hara, Eureka O’Hara, and Trinity K Bonet shared that they voted for Jan. Jan felt attacked but thankfully the drama didn’t last long.
It was a new week in the workroom and RuPaul came in to fill the queens in on what this week’s challenge held. It was yet another acting challenge. This time, the queens would be overacting in an American Horror Story spoof, Ru-Merican Horror Story: Coven Girls. They would be portraying different actresses from American Horror Story in their performance.
The queens had to assign the roles themselves, which is always a headache. Of course, the peppy glee character had to go to Jan. Ginger and Kylie Sonique Love were both hoping for the character inspired by Jessica Lang, and of course, it came down to rock, paper, scissors. Sonique won and Ginger was left in a role she didn’t care much for. Meanwhile, A’Keria C. Davenport took the role of a voodoo doll because she believes in voodoo and ghosts. Good for her, I love that for her.
While the queens began prepping for their acting performance, Angela Bassett paid them a virtual visit! She looked perfect, as always. They got to ask her questions to prepare for their roles. That was a cute moment!
Next, the queens filmed their performances with Ross Matthews and Michelle Visage. Instantly, Ra’jah and Trinity struggled. Ra’Jah had no idea what a lisp was, which was interesting. A’Keria was another queen who struggled. She couldn’t get the attitude the judges were looking for down. Kylie and Eureka were other members of the cast who had a hard time with their roles. As you might have guessed, Jan and Ginger were totally in their element.
While the queens were getting ready to hit the main stage, A’Keria shared that she wanted to open a funeral home. I hope she follows this passion. Meanwhile, Trinity shares she had an ex-boyfriend who was a white witch. The more you know.
Anyway, back to drag. Ru was joined on the main stage by Ross, Michelle, and guest judge Emma Roberts. The category on the main stage was oh my goth. I loved this category! My favorite looks were A’Keria, Jan, and Ginger!
Finally, we got to watch the hit show, Ru-Merican Horror Story: Coven Girl. Was this performance longer than usual or was it just me? Somehow, it ended with RuPaul hosting a Soul Train-inspired performance? I have no idea. Anyway, it was cute.
It was time for the critiques. Pandora and Trinity were the only safe queens this week. Ginger and Jan got the highest praise, as to be expected. Joining them with the praise was Kylie, who struggled during filming. I was so proud of her! Everyone else got both negative and positive critiques. In the end, Kylie won the challenge while A’Keria and Ra’Jah found themselves in the bottom two.
The best part about Kylie winning this challenge is getting to see her lip sync. She’s an amazing performance! This week’s lip-sync assassin was Manila Luzon who never disappoints! The pair faced off to Dirty by Christina Aguilera. It was a great performance! In the end, it was Kylie who won. The lipstick she selected was sadly A’Keria. Her energy will be missed.
