Well, y’all, another season of Canada’s Drag Race has come to a close! While we are all sad to see the crown leave season one winner, Priyanka’s head, we are so excited to see Kendall Gender, Icesis Couture, or Pythia take home the crown!
The finale episode opened with a montage of the top 3’s best moments. It’s amazing how strong all three of these queens were all season! It is truly anyone’s crown! Following the great reminder of the season, the queens entered the workroom to mourn the elimination of Gia Metric before celebrating the fact that they made it to the top 3!
You know how these finale episodes go, but this one had a twist. Instead of writing and recording their own verses to a RuPaul song, they would be recording their own version of Brooke Lynn Hytes’ song Queen of The North! They would also be doing a photoshoot with Priyanka and choreography with Hollywood Jade
How great was seeing Priyanka talking with the queens? It was a cute moment for sure. Plus, we will take any and all Priyanka content we can get. The best part was Icesis telling Priyanka that she did well in the Snatch Game and asking Priyanka if she did well in that challenge. Never forget the Miss Cleo moment!
After the fun with Priyanka, the queens had to do all the hard stuff. They worked with Brooke to record their verses. Brooke gave a lot of productive critiques and it was a cute recording session to watch! However, the queens didn’t have nearly as much fun with Hollywood Jade, as the choreo was difficult! Plus, they had to perform with props!
The day was finally here, someone was going to win the crown! The queens got ready together in the workroom for the last time. They chose to talk about their favorite moments throughout the journey, which was cute. Of course, it evolved into who was the trade of the season. Kendall and Pythia said Adriana, while Icesis said Kendall!
Finally, it was time for the queens to hit the main stage. Brooke was joined by Brad Goreski, Traci Melchor, and Amanda Brugal. First, the queens would be performing their verses to Brooke Lynn’s song. It was so good! They did a great job with their lyrics and nailing the difficult choreography! It was a lot of fun to watch.
Then, the queens hit the runway in their best drag. Everyone looked beautiful! Once they all reached the end of the runway, the queens got to see their photos with Priyanka, while also sharing vulnerable moments. Icesis shared about her battle with suicidal thoughts and abuse and how drag saved her. Kendall and Brad shared a beautiful moment around sobriety and there wasn’t a dry eye in the house. Pythia gave a heartfelt talk about gender and sexuality and the pain they felt growing up.
Before the new queen was crowned, the eliminated queens got to join the party. Everyone was back on the runway and they all looked gorgeous! Finally, the moment we’ve all been waiting for, a winner was chosen. No, wait, just kidding! They all had to lip sync!
The final three queens faced off to Celine Dion’s It’s All Coming Back to Me like good Canadians. The performance was well done and it was truly anyone’s crown to take. Priyanka entered the stage to crown the newest queen with one of the most beautiful looks in the history of Drag Race. I mean, look for yourself! In the end, Icesis took the crown, and it was magical!
Another great season of Canada’s Drag Race is in the books! Now, bring on season 14 of RuPaul’s Drag Race!
