The UK has entered the stage for what is set to be the drag Olympics, 2019 saw the first UK season of drag race. We’re now set to play host for the first UK versus the world, rumors flooded with who, what, where, and when this could happen and the magical day is here. Drag race UK media accounts gave us subtle hints in the last few days to get social media speculating. Well, the speculation is over as we have the cast of the very first UK Vs The World…
Up first representing the UK we have:
Baga Chipz – “Stunning. Class.” (UK)
For those who don’t remember (which is practically impossible), Baga competed on Season 1 of RuPaul’s Drag Race UK. Of course, she captured our hearts with her confessionals and catchphrases, winning 3 maxi challenges and placing third Baga is hoping to do MUCH BETTA (I’m sorry.) Being the most famous woman in Britain is no easy task, Baga plans to showcase her glow up “I’ve had me lips done, I’ve had me teeth done… a bit of Botox, a bit of filler. And I’ve been very very busy. I’ve done so much TV from Celebrity Masterchef to Blankety Blank, to the Celebrity Circle, and now, I’m the most famous woman in Britain!”
Cheryl Hole – “Not threatened” (UK)
Are you ready for the return of the self-proclaimed mediocre queen? I for one am so pleased to see Cheryl back representing the UK. Placing 4th (with no wins) the queen of Essex is back to show she’s still a star. So what will we expect this time around “Well in series one, you all saw me crying “I’m a ******* star! I’m a star!” (I became a meme!) but this time I know I’m a star. I know I’m going to smash the challenges and I know I’m going to win.” Our Cheryl plans to fight fair in her quest for the crown “I know some of these queens are going to play a dirty game. But I’m a clean little diva! The only place I’m dirty is the place… well, you know exactly where!” However, dont be fooled by her demure proclaiming “I am the one to beat! And I’m ready to show that I’m not mediocre anymore! This is the queen of the huns right here. I’m gonna have all the badges. I’m gonna be walking sideways because it’s so heavy because I’ve got all the badges… and I’ll be QUEEN OF THE WORLD!”
Blu Hydrangea – “Belfast and furious” (UK)
Who can forget this iconic shady little Irish wonder? Placing 5th with one maxi challenge under their belt, Blu became known for being a makeup masterpiece and one-third of the girl group mega group Frock Destroyers. Blu plans on showcasing her craft “Blu is no longer a GCSE art project – she’s a masterpiece baby! I’m here to send some bitches home! (home, home, home)” To this date, she is still the only Irish queen to of competed on the UK franchise “It’s just so important to me to be visible for the queers of Belfast and Northern Ireland.” Of course post Drag Race ,Blu toured up and down the UK with the Frock Destroyers, something that has changed her life “It’s been crazy being a Frock Destroyer! We have an album, we have a music video! We still travel all over the world. We went to Morocco, where it is illegal to be gay – I thought I was gonna go to jail! Oh, mummy!” Dont be fooled by her beautiful, sweet demure her superpower is her venomous tongue, and she’s ready for battle “I’m ready to make it to the top. I deserve to reign supreme. When I walked into season one, I said let’s paint the town blue. Well, how about we paint the world blue! But RuPaul still makes me shit myself a little bit… so we’ll see.”
Let’s travel across to the snowy land of Canada, representing is two of the very best and firm fan favorites Lemon and Jimbo!
Lemon – “Sweet & Sour” (Canada)
This sweet and sour queen undoubtedly left far too early for us fans at home, her shock departure after winning 2 maxi challenges and shone as JoJo Siwa in Snatch Game. Lemon ended up placing 5th cementing her as a firm fan favorite. Yet she left her mark on the show and went on to leave THAT verse on Priyanka’s fantastic ep ‘Come Through.’ Will Lemonyaka own 2022? Her secret to winning the crown? “You have to be obsessed with yourself. You have to serve your fullest fantasy” Which we no doubt will see showcased through her drag, besides her beauty, her endless talent involved being a dancing queen. Something which she plans to harness this time around “On my season, I came in as a dancing queen diva and I ended up dominating in these comedy challenges. So I don’t know if you’ll remember me as a dancer or a funny gal… but guess what? I’m all of the above.” Don’t be fooled by her sweet demure, her parting fighting words? “I think they are going to be very scared of me. I look good in a tiara. It’d be really nice to give me one..?”
Jimbo – “Simply the breast” (Canada)
This queen doesn’t need any introduction, how can they after that first photo challenge? Jimbo dominated the screens winning one maxi challenge and snatch game, ultimately placing 4th in the competition. The big-breasted bimbo is back to finish what she started. Proclaiming herself as “The robbed queen from Canada’s Drag Race season one. But I’ve moved on… and I’m here to rob someone else now. Let’s do this!” No one can describe Jimbo’s style more than the queen herself “I’m not afraid to be a total wacko. I do love to dance to the beat of my own drum! I can be a clown, I can be a glamorous queen – and everything in between!” So get your game face on as Jimbo is set to battle with fighting words “I can’t wait to take out my sisters. I’m going to crush them with my breasts, stab them with my fingers…. And then scream at them! I have a thirst for drag blood. Make sure that you sleep with one eye open!”
Jujubee– “Drag Race OG” (USA)
Who else is excited to see this brand new queen to the franchise? Okay, sarcasm aside Miss Jujubee is one queen we never tire of seeing compete. The OG from season 2, who has gone on to compete in All stars 1 and 5 has a special place in fans’ hearts. Her past records serve her well ( 3rd (USA series 2), 3rd/4th (USA All-stars series 1), Runner up (USA All-Stars series 5) will this finally be her time to grab the crown? “People might think I’m crazy for doing this again… But I like torture! I’ve been everywhere and that’s because of Drag Race.” As she knows the game so well she must have some tactics up her sleeve right?
“The way I’m going to play this game is by manipulating those other bitches to keep me there!! I’ll befriend them, I’ll get to know everything about them, digging through their trash, peeping into their windows while they are sleeping… and then I’ll use their truth against them. Because I’m a sneaky ******* bitch!” Declaring battle and being a pro there’s no denying Jujubee has what it takes to reach the top. “There’s no way that I’m NOT getting to the top every single time. I am a pro at this competition. These girls can learn something from me! Ru might as well just give me the crown now! I’ll buy a farm, have a whole bunch of chickens and cats – I won’t bother her anymore!”
Mo Heart – “Artist FKA Monique Heart” (USA)
Hello world, are you brown cow stunning? (Sorry) One of my personal favorites Miss Mo Heart is back after her successful run on All-Stars 4 and Season 10. Both led to her winning 3 maxi challenges and placing 8th (USA Series 10) runner-up (USA All stars 4.) Another returning legend taking part “When RuPaul gives you an opportunity baby, you’d better take it to the max. From the depths of my heart, I knew I would love to be able to do this one more time. And then I got a phone call! I took that call! And So I came! This is the biggest stage in the world. Ok, so I didn’t win season ten… And I didn’t win All-Stars. But I don’t want to be an All-Star, honey. I want to be QUEEN OF THE WORLD! Ok?.” Be prepared to see her declare facts, new looks, and fighting words “I’m not going home. I’m gonna tell the other queens, “We thank you for your sacrifice – for getting chopped, may the odds forever be in MY favour. Thank you!” I am truly prepared for the competition. It’s not just my runway looks that are going to slay – which they are, trust me! But y’all knew Monique – and it’s time for you to know Mo Heart. She’s a winner baby. “
Janey Jacke – “Dutch Courage” (Holland)
Janey Jacke was in reaching distance to the crown on season one of Drag Race Holland. Janey led the way winning 2 maxi challenges including the rusical. After finishing as runner up her appetite for the competition is at a fever pitch “This time round, I’m ready, hungry and I’m feistier than ever. I’m going to approach it with a lot of fire… they think I’m just a pretty girl. But I want to break the stereotypes of what people think of the Netherlands. I’ve got it all! I’ve got the performances, I got jokes, I got everything in this package!” Queens watch out Janey has no weaknesses and her self-proclaimed superpower? “My drag superpower is being 100% absolutely real.”
Pangina Heels – “Drag Master” (Thailand)
Making history as the first host to compete, say hello to Miss Pangina Heels. Viewers will know her as the co-host for Drag Race Thailand. Their mission is simple “I am here to represent my country, represent me and all of Asia! This season, the world can see how amazing Asian drag queens are!” Whilst the others have an idea on how to compete, Panagina will be a competing Ru girl “Yes, I‘m a Ru girl of sorts, but I have never competed before! Now I am officially a Ru girl!! Oh god, I hope I make my country proud. I’m shitting my pants a little.” The queens should beware of her endless talent, she possesses “I can sing, I can dance, I can act! I am an Asian chameleon. I love serving you a different variety of drag. I’m excited to compete with all the queens from the world – but they don’t know who I am. I am going to be the dark horse of this competition! I know what they can do, but they don’t know what I can do.” I for one cannot wait to see what Pangina has up her sleeve.
