The queens of RuPaul’s Drag Race were back after the elimination of June Jambalaya. Of course, the queens opened the episode by celebrating Willow Pill‘s win, but it was a bit overshadowed by Jasmine Kennedie‘s over emotion for being safe. Bosco wasn’t having it and neither was Kornbread Jeté.
It was a new day in the workroom but the conversation with Jasmine continued. Kerri Colby and Korbread confronted her about talking a lot. At least they said it respectively, but there was a bit of tension there. However, RuPaul entered the workroom without the “ooh girl.” Maybe it was because Jasmine was talking so much.
Ru went straight into the maxi challenge instructions. The queens would be making super teases for Drag Race between two teams. Since Willow won the main challenge and Maddy Morphosis won the lipsync, they were team captains. Willow Team Willow was made up of Kornread, Bosco, Lady Camden, Kerri, Jorgeous, and Jasmine. Team Maddy was DeJa Skye, Daya Betty, Angeria Paris VanMichaels, Alyssa Hunter, and Orion Story.
When the queens broke into groups, the drama between Kornbread and Jasmine continued. There was a lot of tension and it made the rest of their teammates a bit nervous. Meanwhile, team Maddy was thriving, but Alyssa was having a hard time finding her place in it all.
First up to film with Michelle Visage and Carson Kressley. Jasmine, Kornbread, and Kerri were able to pull it together and work well together. Team Maddy also did a great job with their takes. In the end, everyone did a great job. Well, not everyone, but that’s the judges’ job to say, not mine.
After locking down their performance, the queens got in drag for the runway this week and the theme was Night of a Thousand J.Lo’s! While they were getting ready, Alyssa shared that she and her father both came out to each other. They are both gay! Plus, her mom is a pageant mom, so she has great support from both. It was such a cute story. Of course, J.Lo surprised the queens virtually.
It was time for the queens to hit the runway with Ru, Michelle, Ross Matthews, and Loni Love. On the runway, everyone looked great! It was all a hit for me, at least. When they showed the teasers, both were surprisingly good? This is a good group of queens, y’all.
It was time for the judges’ critiques. Lady Camden, Bosco, Jorgeous, Jasmine, Maddy, Daya, and Orion were safe. The tops were very clearly Willow, DeJa, and Angie, while Alyssa and Kerri were the obvious bottoms. However, Kerri was literally wearing J.Lo’s dress, which was iconic. Kornbread also received low critiques, but she had a really wonderful breakthrough on the runway.
In the end, Angie won the challenge, while Kerri and Alyssa fell into the bottom two. The faced off to Play by J.Lo. Alyssa tried to shoot off her money gun but instead, it shot her in the foot. Kerri got to stay while it all came down to Alyssa’s chocolate bar. She did not have the golden ticket so she sashayed away.
