After last week’s exhausting special episode, the queens of Season 14 were back for another challenge. Jasmine Kennedie sashayed away, leaving behind the world’s longest message, talking her fellow queen’s ears off one last time.
RuPaul entered the room to let the contestants know that they would be participating in this season’s Rusical, Moulin Ru. Of course, they were in charge of casting the roles, something this group hasn’t been able to do well this season. It started out strong, with Daya Betty, DeJa Skye, and Willow Pill getting the roles they want without a fight. Meanwhile, Angeria Paris VanMichaels and Jorgeous were fighting over the role of talent, while Bosco and Lady Camden were fighting for the lead role. Neither wanted to give in so they did a vote of the fellow queens. It was tied and fell on Willow’s shoulders and she chose Bosco.
Camden was incredibly angry about Bosco getting the part. However, Angie was there to boost her confidence and help her get excited about the role. Things got better for everyone when they went to run through the rusical with surprise director, Leslie Jordan! Leslie shared that he was doing drag before Ru, going by the name Baby Wipes. Incredible. The directing went well and of course, Leslie was the star of the show.
While the queens were getting into drag, Camden embraced her role in the rusical. Bosco shared about being taught how to dance by her trained dancing grandma, who she thought would be so excited to see her in the lead role.
On the main stage, Ru was joined by Michelle Visage, Ross Matthews, and Andra Day. The Rusical was cut, but it wasn’t until Leslie appeared for a guest spot that I was really sold. That man singing Ru’s song Cover Girl was the only thing I needed. Also, Willow as the green fairy was adorable.
For the runway, the category was mirror-inspired. I was kinda obsessed with Daya’s Kiss-inspired look. Willow and Bosco’s looks also caught my eye. Everyone looked good!
It was time for the judges’ critiques. Ru said that they had to split hairs to find the tops and bottoms this week. Lady Camden got high praise for her role she wasn’t excited about, while Bosco got lower critiques for not being “all the way there.” Daya, Willow, and Angie got high praise, while DeJa and Jorgeous got a bit lost.
Of course, the queens were asked who should go home tonight. Bosco got all of the nominations. In the end, Camden won the challenge while Bosco and Jorgeous fell into the bottom two. The pair faced off to Heartbreak Hotel by Whitney Houston. It was no surprise that RuPaul chose for Jorgeous to stay, however, the joke was on her. BOSCO HAD THE GOLDEN TICKET! We will miss the “it’s chocolate” with the tragic music, but Bosco deserved this!
