RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars: Legendary Legend Looks (S07 E07)

This week’s episode of RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars felt especially necessary following the heartbreaking state of the world. It was nice to watch this incredibly happy season and escape from the weight of the world on our shoulders, right?

For this week’s maxi challenge, the queens would be recreating their own versions of some of RuPaul’s most iconic looks. Vivienne chose to block Jinkx Monsoon, who is notoriously bad at design challenges, which everyone joked was a waste of a block in the end. Since she couldn’t win a legendary legends star anyway, she decided to have fun with the process of hot gluing another dress.

The best part of the season is that everyone is clearly enjoying themselves in the workroom. Jinx’s hot glue malfunction could have led to a breakdown, but she ended up just laughing and enjoying herself. Somehow it turned into Yvie Oddly slapping her in the butt? And Monet X Change chiming in about how crazy it all was.

Meanwhile, Shea Couleé was running low on time because she had to paint her fabric and make her own ruffles. Plus, she wanted to make a jacket, amongst other things. The pressure was on for some of the queens, but for the most part, everyone seemed to be in a silly, goofy mood.

It was a new day in the workroom and Trinity “The Tuck” Taylor was doing what she does best, helping everyone else finish their designs. While they were getting ready to hit the main stage, Trinity and Monet were strategizing who they would block if they won this week. In the meantime, Shea was opening a new makeup sponge and the incredible Jaida Essence Hall thought it was an eggroll. I don’t have time to explain as I’m not sure I even understood. I just know I would die for Jaida.

Finally, the queens had to hit the runway in the Ru-inspired outfits they made in front of Ru, Michelle Visage, Carson Kressley, and Betsey Johnson! No pressure, right? Again, everyone pulled off the assignment, but I loved Trinity, Yvie, Raja, and Jaida’s looks best. As for the critiques, Jinkx finally got good feedback on a design challenge! In the end, Trinity and Jaida were the top two of the week, which was much deserved!

They faced off for a chance to block one of their fellow contestants to I Want Love by Jessie J. A lip sync between these two is never going to be boring. They were tearing up that stage. It could have gone either way, but Trinity was the winner. She chose to block Yvie. Can we talk about how much joy Ru gets watching the queens block each other? Truly a fan of the chaos.
