We twerked goodbye to Sminty Drop last week, and it lit a fire under Baby’s butt as she wiped away the mirror message. Pixie Polite gets emotional at always being the bridesmaid and never the bride, feeling she’s in Danny Beard‘s shadow by missing out on last week’s win. I love Danny’s attitude and encouraging Pixie to get out of that headspace, of course, it’s a stressful place and you want to exceed to showcase your potential.
Get ready because reading is what? ‘Fundamental’ Ru’s here in his winter get-up, was clearly a cold day in the U.K. Season four’s library is officially open, and these queens are loaded with comedy quick wits. Dakota Schiffer’s read towards Black Peppa was more of a throwback from RuPaul’s Drag Race season 2, Jujubee did a similar read to Tyra Sanchez. The winner of this week’s mini-challenge is Pixie Polite, her second week in a row and another prize awaits her.
This week is Rusical week, now last season we had *that* workout rusical which is best we forget. It’s all about ‘Lairy Poppins’ who is Mary Poppin‘s evil sister, the queens are gifted their scripts and as the mini-challenge winner, Pixie is the casting director. Dakota never seeing Mary Poppins before is shocking, it’s a childhood Disney classic. Cheddar Gorgeous is just as shocked as me, most queens decide on their roles pretty quickly with little to no issue.
Dakota doesn’t want to be typecast as the cute twin, and she battles it out with Cheddar Gorgeous for the role of Madam Rochelle La Roache, a French head waitress who happens to be a cockroach. Cheddar wins the role with her french madame vocal audition. But Dakota refuses to be down though she’s a little concerned about what direction to go. On the side, we have Pixie realizing she didn’t think about her own role and what she can achieve. It falls to a side chat with Danny about switching positions, I think a good decision is made, although Danny is bound to shine in this role. Jonbers Blonde is cast as the bird lady and can be heard rehearsing from afar… caw caw!
It’s time to work on those vocals as the rusical will be live, no pressure for the queens who struggle to hold a tune. Let’s get to rehearsals and we have Michelle Visage coaching us through the vocals, I love that we see no real struggles. Everyone shines and is already confident, this is key to making an iconic rusical for everyone watching. Although how many of us can now recite the line “Drink bin juice please drink bin juice.”
Alongside vocals, we get the Italian stallion choreographer and my favorite Strictly Come Dancing star Giovanni Pernice to help stretch out the girls and flirt with Danny Beard.
Lights, Camera, and Action, ‘Lairy Poppins’ was by far one of the most chaotic, well-performed Rusical’s we’ve had. It was bonkers, we really watched a bunch of queens sing ‘Togers, bum bum, willies’, and my personal favorite line ‘Take a well-loved character and make her super skanky’ on the BBC. That rusical was A+ from start to finish.
This week’s category is ‘ West in Wonders’ and this category is straight out of the west end we are also joined by Hannah Waddingham. The outfits in this episode are insane, and Hannah is all of us at home living her best life. Everyone’s outfit instantly recognizes what the musical is inspired by, Black Peppas lion king outfit is incredible. Tonight is Danny Beards night as it is without a doubt one of the most fantastic pieces to walk the runway, with her outfit from the little shop of horrors.
Cheddar and Black Peppa are both safe this week, with so many standouts I would agree. Michelle’s terrible pun of no one being supercalifragilisticexpialitrocious and she’s right no one flopped. Hearing Baby and Ru’s talk on the runway made me emotional. We laugh at Ru’s inner saboteur jokes but he really does speak the truth about it. Like Hannah, I just wanted to give Baby a big hug and encourage her to keep going.
It echoes through to untucked we’re checking in with Baby regarding their mental health. These girls are a really fantastic group and seeing them encourage and support each other.
Yet winners have to be chosen and as deserved Danny and Jonbers (cacaw) place at the top with Danny winning another Rupeter badge. This leaves us the Baby and Dakota in the bottom to battle it out. I love both, I don’t want either to go, and they lipsync to ‘No Way’ I’ve not heard this song but it’s such a good song for a lipsync. Both the girls turned it out and it was so fun to watch. Now what happens next is important and, emotional Baby says she needs to go home and take care of herself. It’s important to address these things, and I love that she is strong enough to make that decision. The love she got back was emotional and of course, we got another dramatic exit line ‘Just so you know it would be over for you hoes if I stayed.’ You know she’s right, so that was one hell of an episode! If you made it to the end of ruview then well-done Lairy Poppins is proud of you.
Next week is my love-hate‘ Snatch Game’ it looks chaotic we have Baga Chipz and Mel B… what more do we need?
