Drag queens give advice on how to achieve the perfect Halloween costume.
RuPaul’s Drag Race stars Alaska and Peppermint, along with Queen of the Universe contestant La Voix sat down with Newsweek to share last-minute Halloween costume tips.
“I am excited to see someone do the Yass-ified Sanderson Sisters … The three witches from Hocus Pocus get some beautifying makeovers and expensive hair extensions and really go for full Kardashian-level glam,” Alaska said.
Peppermint’s idea for a costume this year is to take current events and make a look out of it. “Take the issues to the streets. The issues from the headlines should be turned into costume ideas, especially given how ridiculous things have gotten lately. It’s almost like make-believe anyway.”

Quotable
This week, we’re bringing you a special quote from the new series, Bring Back My Girls that Jackie Cox shared about her special lip-sync performance to Firework during RuPaul’s Drag Race Season 12 that made Jeff Goldblum cry.
“I can’t even tell you what that [Firework lipsync] moment has meant to my life. Right away, on the crew, and I’ll tell you this now because we didn’t get a chance to talk about it on the show. There were a few Muslim-American folks on the crew who after that moment we all just kind of went backstage and held each other and cried. You know, my whole life I saw my mom deal with so much racism…and [I’m so proud] to stand up for that and uplift us and to show that everyone fucking belongs in this country.”
