Miss Big Adams Apple Comedy Queen returns to New York City this Sunday
New York’s premiere comedy queen pageant, Miss Big Adams Apple, is taking place this Sunday at Industry Bar. Eight queens will be facing off for the crown. The event will honor Holly Box-Springs, last year’s winner. The competitors will be performing in front of judges that include Miz Cracker, while the event is hosted by Tina Burner. We will update you next week on who brings home the crown!
Jinkx Monsoon’s sketch comedy show is back for a new season
It was announced this week that the Queen of All Queens, Jinkx Monsoon, landed a second season of her sketch comedy show, Sketchy Queens, from World of Wonder. The new season will debut in 2023 exclusively on WOW Presents Plus.
Trixie Mattel meets Peloton
Gay icon Cody Rigsby of Peloton fame has launched a new series through the workout platform called LOL Cody, where he is joined by pop culture legends for a workout and a Q&A all at once. His first guest was none other than Trixie Mattel! If you subscribe to the platform, be sure to check it out!
RuPaul misses the latest episode of RuPaul’s Drag Race UK
You read that correctly! RuPaul’s Drag Race took a brief hiatus and turned into Michelle Visage’s Drag Race when RuPaul was absent from the series this week. Raven joined Michelle on the judges’ panel for the herstory-making episode.
While no reason was given for Ru’s absence, just that it was out of her control, the show went on. Keep an eye out for our episode recap!
Pattie Gonia spreads an important message with her Halloween costume
Aside from being an incredibly talented drag queen, Pattie Gonia is a climate activist. This year, she wanted to go as something truly scary for Halloween- so she dressed as climate change.
Pattie told NPR, “And honestly, what is scarier than climate change?” Not only did she look fierce, but she used her platform to spread awareness.
