Viola Vainglory fights for trans and drag rights in the midst of a horrible proposed bill in Tennessee
Viola Vainglory took to Instagram to spread awareness about devastating legislation proposed in Tennessee. This bill would ban drag completely in any space children can view. This would impact pride and other public performances. Viola made a powerful message on Instagram.
“This proposed bill might seem innocuous, but it’s a wolf in sheep’s clothing, with the potential to harm not just drag and burlesque performers, but importantly, trans people just living their lives,” She wrote. “The penalties for this are steep, and the potential for misuse is broad. This won’t go up for a vote til next year, which means we’ve got time to lift our voices against it!”
If you are in TN, please write your local representatives and fight against this bill!
Showbiz
If you’re in Worcester, MA this December, you have to check out the next Harley’s Fun House, an open-stage competition at Ralph’s Rock Diner. Any and all drag or burlesque performers can participate. Showtime is 9 pm and features performances from Harley Queen, Bootz, and Cortana Wednesday.
