RuPaul’s Drag Race: Canada Vs The World: “Make ‘em Laugh” (S02 E04)

Last week we said an emotional goodbye to Anita Wiglit, back in the werkoom and the queens praiseD Anita for her positive attitude. Victoria Scone reveals she too picked Anita’s lipstick, and Rita Baga thanks both for saving her.

So with the emotions aside, the final six get ready for the next mini-challenge. They are to get in quick drag and channel their inner social media influencer. In the world of TikTok, instagram reels, and of course cameo this is something I’m sure they’re no strangers to. Promoted to act out a message from fans they bring out the comedy. Victoria and Rajah ‘O Hara for me reacted the best to the prompts. Victoria’s ‘outrage’ and delivery were on par, and as usual, Rajah nailed the scenarios perfectly.

The winner is Rajah and the prize is to choose the lineup for this week’s maxi challenge. It’s a roast week. Of course, this comes hot off the heels of having a roast only two weeks ago for Rupals Drag Race UK. But let’s keep a positive head for what’s to come, everyone wants to go first in the lineup, apart from Victoria. Alas, Rajah places Silky Nutmeg Ganache last, which Victoria sees as an alliance with her fellow US sister. To help the queens with their roasting material is Gary Janetti writer of Will and Grace and Brad Goreski’s husband.

Everyone has strong material, a few misplaced jokes for Rita Baga, and Icesis Couture whose jokes just need a bit of fine-tuning. Overall this roast looks to be a strong set, back in the werk room and the queens get ready to hit the stage.

But before this happens the atmosphere takes a somber turn, with Icesis saying she isn’t in a talkative mood. You can see there’s an underlying issue, and a hug from Rajah sets off the tears and emotions. Icesis discusses being burnt out from her last season. Declaring she returned too soon needing to go home. This once again reflects back to past seasons with mental health and creative burnout. It’s important to take care of yourself first and foremost. The way the girls rally around her and uplift them with encouraging and reinforcing words is heartwarming. Silky and Rajah in particular have the best advice. A very emotional goodbye to Icesis, and Silky gets the girls together for a prayer circle. An emotional time but it’s time for the roast.

This week we have a guest Gary Janetti as part of the panel. Out first and to set the mood for this evening is Rajah. They had some strong moments that were funny, leading to the next queen to arrive which is Vanity Milan. I liked her jokes she started strong, but yet went down this rabbit hole taking Canada Vs the UK quite literally. For me Victoria nailed it, her jokes about her cervix were hilarious, and that’s on what? Period. Silky conjured a story of eating bland chicken at Brooke Lynn Hytes’ house. Proceeding to chuck a jar of spices narrowly missing an audience member.

Runway time and the outfits are gorgeous. It’s “plaid girls club.” These looks are stunning, Victoria comes out in a cocooned purple outfit. Vanity Milan is every inch a replica from clueless… and I love it!

Brooklyn calls Silky’s outfit you would see during a meet and greet (savage.) Rita Baga is declared safe, with the top two Silky and Victoria. They’re the second win in a row, this does of course leave Vanity and Rajah at the bottom. An ultimate conundrum with of course UK vs America for the lipsync win. Yet the plea cases in untucked are fair, emotional, and positive. I would say it’s clear whos going to eliminate should they win the lipsync. I loved how they panned to Rita sitting alone on the couches, as she declares “She’s sitting alone in the VIP.”

The time has come to lipsync and the pop bop this week is Your Daddy Don’t Know by Toronto. It’s a fun number with both queens interacting with one another, and having a sexy time. But the difficult decision comes and is left in the hands off Victoria Scone. Before she makes her choice, Brooklyn relives her off duty, as we have a double Shantay! A well deserved one, as this was too close to call. So did you think the right decisions were made this week? Let us know below!

New episodes of “Canada’s Drag Race: Canada Versus The World’ will premiere every Friday at 9pm ET/6pm PT in the US and in select territories exclusively on WOW Presents Plus, day-and-date with its local airing on Crave in Canada.
