The Week in Drag (12/30/22)

The drag world is moving a mile a minute these days! If you’re worried you might have missed some of the week’s biggest stories, we understand. That’s where The Week in Drag comes in, your weekly look at the biggest stories unfolding in the drag scene. From shocking moments that unfold in the RuPaul’s Drag Race franchise to what’s going on in your local scene, we’ve got you covered!

Bianca Del Rio takes on a new gig

RuPaul’s Drag Race Season 6 winner, the incomparable Bianca Del Rio will be taking over the hosting gig for everyone’s favorite post-Drag Race watch, The Pit Stop! Tune into the show as Bianca interviews her colleagues each Saturday after RuPaul’s Drag Race Season 15!

Drag Queen Christmas made waves in Florida

If you’re anything like us, you probably went to the Murray and Peter Drag Queen Christmas touring show when it came into your town. However, in pure Florida fashion, fans of the queens were unable to enjoy the event in peace, with Scrooge Governor Ron DeSantis stating the event was “under investigation” by the state’s government.

Thankfully, while protestors showed up, a voice of counter-protestors in support of the queens and the attendees were there, too. They are the true heroes of Florida!

Bob The Drag Queen and Monet X Change are back on our tv screens

However, they might look a little different. Two of our all-time favorite queens, Bob The Drag Queen and Monet X Change will be guest starring on The Simpsons! The episode airs on New Year’s Day and we can’t wait to tune in!

Canada Vs. The World has crowned a winner!

If you missed the Canada Vs. The World finale, you need to read Kirsty’s recap here to get all the tea, because it was an amazing wrap-up to the season! We want to wish congratulations to our newest crown queen, Ra’Jah O’Hara

We would like to wish Diana Dzhaketov a warm retirement.

Diana Dzhaketov said farewell to a room full of adoring fans a few weeks ago. While we are so sad to see our former Queen of LA winner stepping away from the craft, we have loved watching her perform and grow throughout her career. We wish her the absolute best in her next endeavor!
