RuPaul’s Drag Race breaks premiere records
RuPaul’s Drag Race made a big move to MTV and as a result, had the highest ratings in 6 years. Viewership was up 20% from Season 14’s debut last year. It topped the charts for the most watchers that day. Congrats to the cast and crew of Drag Race Season 15!
Remembering Ba’Naka
Ba’Naka, the iconic Washington D.C. queen, has tragically passed away at the age of 36. She was the focal point of Capital Pride for many years and was a fixture at local bars. She got her start in drag at just 18 years old and made a name for herself in the scene. She was loved by so many queens, with RuPaul’s Drag Race stars Detox and Willam amongst the many posting in honor of the late queen.
She was a beloved queen who will be deeply missed.
Drag Race takes Belgium!
Drag Race has expanded into yet another market! Drag Race Belgique will be hosted by Drag Race Canada and Canada Vs. The World alum, Rita Baga! She will be joined by fellow judges, Lufy and Mustii. The latest franchise will air on February 16 with episodes hitting the WOWPresents+ app for viewers outside of Belgium one day later.
RuPaul’s Drag Race queens hit South By Southwest!
Drag Race queens Jaida Essence Hall, Symone, and Gottmik will be attending the legendary South By Southwest Conference and Festivals which kicks off on March 10th. The queens will be presenting a talk called “Don’t be a Drag, Just be a Queen,” which will focus on the history and ongoing cultural movement of drag.
DragCon UK was a success!
Although conservatives were upset about Crocs sponsoring a fashion show on the main stage for kids at the event, DragCon went off without a hitch! Even the Teletubbies were there and enjoying themselves! You can catch up with all of the weekend’s events here as our correspondent Kirsty Bright asks the big question of the queens here!
