RuPaul’s Drag Race: LipSync Lalaparuza Smackdownn (S15 E08)

RuPaul’s Drag Race wasted no time this week. Since it was the Lalaparuza, there was no time to waste. Instantly, all the queens hit the main stage to battle it out on the main stage. Here’s how it all went down.

There were to be eight lip syncs. The queens who won their lip-sync were safe and got to return to the workroom. The queen who didn’t win would lip-sync until she did, or eventually got eliminated. Are you following? I barely am.

The lip-syncs were determined by the bingo balls. First pulled was Malaysia Babydoll Foxx, who got to choose her opponent. She selected Marcia Marcia Marcia. Marcia got to choose the song and selected Boys Don’t Cry by Anitta. Side note: did anyone else think Marcia looked great in her performance look? Anyway, Marcia won.

Next came Loosey LaDuca. She selected Spice to compete against. Spice picked Do You Wanna Touch Me by Joan Jett. Loosey was the winner, and it was time for round three. Luxx Noir London was called next, and she chose to face off against Salina EsTitties. Salina chose It’s All Coming Back To Me Now by Celine Dion. Salina was insane, always, and I loved every second. Of course, she was the champion.

Then came Mistress Isabelle Brooks, who selected Jax as her opponent. She chose Tell It to My Heart by Taylor Dayne. RuPaul picked Mistress, which was a bit confusing since Jax is such a powerhouse, but that was that.

Anetra and Sasha Colby, arguably two of the best lip sync performers, closed out the first round to I’m In Love With A Monster by Fifth Harmony. Of course, this was the stiffest competition of the night. It was a legendary performance for sure, but Sasha won while Anetra was left to keep fighting.

The next round was Malaysia against Spice. Spice picked Don’t Go Yet by Camilla Cabello, but neither of the queens knew the words. However, Malaysia won. Anetra, Lux, and Jax were up next against each other in The Right Stuff by Vanessa Williams. This was a fun one,  but in the end, Luxx was safe.

It was time for the final round, but there was a twist. The person who got their name called got to pick one of the final contestants, Jax, Spice, or Anetra, to save. Then, they would have to lip-sync against whoever is left. Again, are you following?

For some reason, Anetra saved Spice, which would have been an easy win for her. Anetra and Jax faced off to Finally by CeCe Peniston. Anetra won, while Jax sashayed away.

What an episode, y’all! What were your thoughts? Do you think Ru got the lip syncs right? Sound off in the comments below!
