RuPaul’s Drag Race: Wigloose (S15 E12)

It was the moment we’ve all been waiting for, the Rusical. Let’s get right into it. This musical was a twist on Footloose, Wigloose. Mistress Isabelle Brooks took on the preacher role, Anetra played the main character’s mom, Salina EsTitties claimed the role of Tuck, and Sasha Colby played Carl. Meanwhile, Loosey LaDuca and Luxx Noir London battled it out for the lead role, Heaven Bacon. It got heated, with Mistress getting involved, too. In the end, the role went to Loosey.

While RuPaul came into the workroom to talk to the queens, Loosey opened up to Salina about the struggles she had with Mistress and Luxx during the role-assigning debacle. She struggled deeply with how the pair ganged up on her. Following that heartfelt moment, Anetra also opened up about how drag saved her life, just like her character, Mama Bacon. That conversation was a tearjerker, to say the least.

The queens got through learning the choreography without any real meltdowns, which is more you can say about several seasons of this show. While the queens got in drag, they talked a bit about the pushback drag gets, especially when it comes to children at shows. Loosey made a great point about how the people protesting drag story hours are often forceful and violent, which is way more traumatic than a kid hearing a book read by a queen.

It was time for the queens to perform their musical number in front of Ru, Michelle Visage, Ross Mathews, and Orville Peck. This musical was incredible, right? Definitely the best one. Clearly, the judges were grasping at straws when it came to finding queens to place in the bottom since everyone did so well.

For the runway, the category was everybody say glove. I loved Loosey’s look, but Sasha was my favorite. Most importantly, I loved Salina saying that she feels like Cardi B if Cardi B had big hands.

Since Ru couldn’t decide who should go home, he asked the competitors to weigh in. Several queens chose to go the track record route saying Salina’s name. Mistress and Luxx took a different road. Mistress said Sasha’s name, while Luxx chose to target Loosey, who she has had issues with throughout the whole season. She went around and gave everyone a compliment and then took down Loosey, which felt intense.

In the end, Anetra won the challenge while Salina and Loosey were in the bottom two. I feel like I was not watching the same episode RuPaul was, but that’s been happening a lot lately. The pair faced off to Running Up That Hill by Kate Bush. Loosey stayed, even though I thought Salina had the better performance, but what do I know.
