Drag is now banned from military bases and Coco Montrese isn’t having it.
Did you know that military bases have been the home of drag shows for centuries? That’s no joke. Military bases have been using drag as a form of entertainment dating back to the 1800s. Now, with the ridiculous push-back the art form has received from real-life villains, the GOP, there will no longer be space for drag performances.
Drag Race legend Coco Montrese called out the Biden administration after the Pentagon banned drag shows from bases. Coco noted that it seems as though even the Democrats are struggling to support the drag community and are falling in line with the Republicans’ hate. Coco has performed twice before on military bases, where she shared that the shows were received positively and packed with fans.
