The ever-dramatic RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars was back with a new episode and the tea was hot. This episode had everything: comedy, bullies, that thing where Alexis Michelle cries. Let’s get into it, shall we?
The queens returned to the workroom following the upsetting elimination of Jaymes Mansfield. OK, maybe I’m biased here, but I love Jaymes! Anyway, LaLa Ri was an early highlight. Watching her parade through the workroom was genuinely wonderful. The black box revealed that everyone had voted for Jaymes, other than herself. Either way, she would have been eliminated.
This week’s challenge required the contestants to figure out what happened to Lil’ Poundcake. There were characters to portray, but it was overall an improv challenge. You know when there are characters to give out, there is going to be drama. Kandy Muse wanted her first-choice role and fought Alexis for it. We’ve seen this happen before with Kandy, but Alexis ended up giving in and taking the role Kandy didn’t want. She cried and Kandy got angry. Jimbo encouraged her to keep crying, though, which was nice.
The drama continued when Kahanna Montrese couldn’t handle the thought of another acting challenge and chose to pack her things and leave. However, RuPaul intercepted. She wanted to set the queens straight on the issues at hand. Everyone was emotional and struggling through the competition and the pep talk seemed to boost everyone’s mood. Kahanna chose to stay.
Jimbo provided support for Kahanna who stayed to fight through another acting challenge. Alexis and Kandy squashed their beef. All was well in the end, but for a moment there it looked rough!
It was time for the queens to investigate Lil’ Poundcake. This challenge was actually hilarious, right? LaLa really shined. She had me cracking up the entire time. Of course, Jimbo hit it out of the park too. I also loved when Jessica Wild called it an ETB card instead of an EBT card. The queen of unintentional comedy strikes again.
On the main stage, the queens hit the runway in front of Ru, Michelle Visage, Carson Kressley, and Javica Leslie. The category on the runway was Miss Fill in the Blank. The queens had to give themselves a title. Jessica was Miss Sausage Party, which was, no pun intended, wild. Kahanna was Miss Tired Ass Showgirl, which was on point for her. LaLa was crowned Miss Bootlegger, complete with her own bootleg Asia O’Hara DVD which was hilarious. Kandy was Miss Arrogant. I wasn’t sure how the look correlated to the title? Alexis was Miss Man Pig. Jimbo named herself Miss Tits Maghee, which was just as wild as you assumed it would be.
It was time for the judges’ critiques. In the end, LaLa was the winner, while Kahanna and Alexis fell into the bottom two. Their fate would be in the hands of LaLa and this week’s lip sync assassin, Jorgeous! They faced off to About Damn Time by Lizzo. Of course, these two put on a great show. LaLa stole it for me, though. She was so much fun to watch! Totally in her element. This is a LaLa Ri stan account. Ru agreed with me and crowned her the winner.
As we all know, great power comes with great responsibility, and the elimination fell to the lipstick in LaLa’s bra. LaLa chose to give Kahanna the chop. Woof, what an episode!
