RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars: Carson Kressley, This is Your Gay Life (S08 E09)

The girls of RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars returned to the workroom following the shocking elimination of LaLa Ri by Alexis Michelle, who had promised to save her after she chose not to eliminate her the week prior. Of course, it was bound to come up in the opening conversation. Jessica Wild was the most upset to see her go because, and I quote, she was “in love with the LaLa Ri experience.”

Is something burning? 🔥 The queens get ready to roast style superstar @CarsonKressley in this week’s maxi challenge 🎙️

It was revealed that during Untucked, Alexis made the same sort of alliance deal with Kandy Muse that she had tried to use with LaLa. Jimbo was surprised to hear that Kandy was wheeling and dealing with other queens. But it was fine in the end, she used her breastplate as a pillow and went to sleep on the workroom table.

Jimbo, Jessica, Alexis, and Kandy made up the top four! RuPaul entered to share that this week’s challenge would be the roast of none other than Carson Kressley! The queens discussed if they were planning on playing characters or as themselves, and everyone wanted to be themselves but Jimbo, who was going to do the challenge as the infamous Joan Rivers! After her Snatch Game on Canada’s Drag Race, we all know she is more than capable of killing it, though some of the other girls tried to get in her head about it.

The order of the roast fell onto Alexis, who put herself first, followed by Jessica, Kandy, and Jimbo. Jimbo thought she may have been hoping that if she bombed, going last would make it worse. Alexis claimed that wasn’t the case, but who knows?

There was a lot of pressure going into this challenge for everyone. Kandy had won the roast during her season, whereas Alexis flopped terribly during hers. Jessica has never experienced a roast on the show before and since she is so sweet, mentors Michelle Visage and Alec Mappa told her to get in there and cut some girls with her humor. Jimbo struggled a bit with her jokes as Joan when she ran through them with Michelle and Alec. The stress!

While the queens were getting into drag, Katya crashed the party. She came in to offer comedic coaching which seemed like a truly bad idea, but maybe that’s my personal grievances coming through.

It was surprising to see that the roast went by without a single flop. Jessica was absolutely hilarious, but it was Jimbo as Joan that stole the show, of course. Was her performance the best roast of all time? Maybe, honestly! The roast was crashed by Thom Felicia from Queer Eye! He was in drag and hilarious!

On the main stage, the category was snow bunny. The looks were great, but I think Jessica’s was my favorite! She looked great. In the end, Jimbo won the challenge while everyone else fell into the bottom three.

It came down to Jimbo vs the lip sync assassin of the week, Silky Nutmeg Ganache. They faced off to Freak-A-Zoid by Midnight Sun. Maybe it was the outfit, the bologna, or just how much Jimbo was feeling it, but she FINALLY won a lip sync! She chose to give Alexis the chop!

Spoilers ahead! ⚠️ Munch, munch, crunch, crunch! 😋 Give it up for this week's Lip Sync Assassin! 💋#AllStars8 is now streaming on #ParamountPlus! 🌟 pic.twitter.com/KFgtx3qZcn
