Famed for everything from the majestic Amazon rain forest to the endless party destination of Rio de Janeiro, it makes perfect sense to see the South American locale become the latest country out of the RuPaul’s Drag Race cannon to have its own franchise. The series doesn’t kick off until August 30th, but we got a sneak peek at the queens from Season 1 of Drag Race Brasil and they are maravilhoso (“gorgeous” in Portuguese, the official language of Brasil)!
The queens joining the cast of Drag Race Brasil include a photographer, a pop artist, a DJ, and even a performer that considered themself a “gourmet clown”! They are: Aquarela, Betina Polaroid, Dallas de Vil, Diva More, Hellena Malditta, Melusine Sparkle, Miranda Lebrão, Naza, Organzza, Rubi Ocean, Shannon Skarllet, and Tristan Soledade.
As we know, the judges panel of any RuPaul’s Drag Race franchise is undeniably crucial, and the panel on Drag Race Brasil is no exception. The series will be hosted by Queen of the Universe” winner, Grag Queen, alongside costume designer Dudu Bertholini and comedian Bruna Braga, both of which will be joining the judging panel.
‘Drag Race Brasil’ premieres on August 30 on WOW Presents Plus in the US and globally, excluding Brazil where it will air on Paramount+ and MTV
