With Rita Menu having sashayed away last week, back in the werkroom Flor has a new sense of confidence. Hastily wiping away the mirror message, she declares a fire has been lit under her butt. With a new week, it’s time for the reading challenge, where reading skills are fundamentally… supposedly. What proceeds can only be described as an attempt to read one another, but instead is crickets.
None of the queen’s reads make sense, or are funny poor Isis Avis Loren has reads written on a card to remind her what to say. Even Ru comments on the poor quality of the readings, which are so bad that no one is victorious in the reading challenge. Instead, pit crew member Ben wins the title and prize.
This week is one of my personal favorites- The Girl Group Challenge. The two groups must write their own lyrics and choreography for the new track ‘BMX Bitches.’ Pit crew member Ben gets to create the groups due to winning, with Flor and Hollywould Star as captains. Splitting down the middle allocating Bumpa Love, and Ashley Madison to Flor’s team. To the disdain of Ashely who wanted to be with the other winners, after her win, she’s felt somewhat cocky and confident.
On the flip side, Hollywould Star, Gabriella Labucchi, and Isis Avis Loren are the perfect trio and name themselves SAS (sexy and sophisticated.) Although it’s clear Gabriella has somewhat lost her voice, she creates a croaky kooky character instead of getting her down. The teams get to record vocals with Michelle, who guides them through their lyrics. Gabriella, despite her croaky voice, shines and is applauded for taking initiative.
Alongside the recording of vocals, it’s straight to choreography. The choreographer is a bundle of whirling energy. A song called BMX bitches naturally requires giant BMXs for these poor queens to throw about and in time. The choreographer is disappointed that the team doesn’t seem to pick it up quickly, I think the majority of us untrained and not used to choreography would struggle. A narrative is forming for Ashley’s struggle to navigate her win, and putting intense pressure on herself throughout the competition. In the werkroom, she breaks down and admits to not knowing how to separate her drag character from herself.
Time for BMX Bitches, and both groups did well with what was quite literally thrown at them. The track itself is not a number-one song, it ebbed, flowed, and delivered a piercing scream throughout. Although SAS shined, each member delivered their lyrics in a poptastic fashion. On the other end of the spectrum, the team struggles to dance in sync, however, Bumpa shines the most out of the three. You as a viewer want to see the queens have fun and enjoy themselves.
This week Rachel Hunter joins the judging panel, and this week’s category is: Fuchsia? I don’t even know her! Runway outfits this week are a much stronger versatile bunch than last week, it’s hard to pick. Although Isis, and Hollywould stand out for their well-constructed gowns.
It’s hard to pick from the strong and versatile runway outfits this week, but the well-constructed gowns from Isis and Hollywould stand out.
It’s the fun part of the competition where Ru stirs the pot and asks who should go home this week and why. No one hesitates or gives pageant answers, with everyone minus Hollywould choosing Flor to go home due to track record. The tension is rife back in untucked, with half the girls admitting they actually think Bumpa should go home. This season’s queens don’t hold back and are an honest bunch.
The group topping the charts is SAS with Hollywould Star winning this week’s challenge, Unfortunately, Bumpa and Ashley landed at the bottom of the rankings. Lipsychning to the 00’s pop bop “Hot N Cold” by Katy Perry, as expected is a fun watch. We, unfortunately, saw Ashley Madison sashay away, While she was a great queen, it seemed like she needed to let loose and have more fun. What do you think of this week’s episode? Let us know below,
