It was the moment we’ve all been waiting for. The queens from both premiere groups finally met, and it went just as we expected. First, we have to talk about how Mirage painted an eye on top of her eye. I’m obsessed. Anyway, we learned that Morphine Love Dion and Plane Jane have the same drag mom, and Jane had the shady words we were all imagining she would direct toward Amanda Tori Meating. However, the queens were on their best behavior otherwise.
It was a new day in the workroom and Sapphira Cristål and Plane Jane got their immunity potions. We learned that the potion can be used on other queens, not just the one who won the challenge. It can only be used once, and has an expiration date!
RuPaul also shared that this week’s challenge was going to be the mother of all balls. Categories were mother goose, significant mother, and call me mother/father eleganza – which meant creating a mother-of-the-ball look with only menswear. What a fun idea!
The queens were creating their looks for the ball and Q and Dawn were the ones to look out for. They’re both strong seamstresses. All was going well until Ru decided to share the results of rate-a-queen! First, she shared that rate-a-queen will be back this week. However, the queens would pick the top and bottom three of the week and those who fall into those groups will get critiques. Second, she left the results, which had Jane shaking, knowing she tried to rig the ratings. However, the details were not there, so she was safe.
My favorite part of the episode was watching Nymphia Wind campaigning. She was trying to use this rate-a-queen to her benefit and I couldn’t get enough of it.
As the queens prepared to hit the runway, Hershii LiqCour-Jeté shared how she got her start in drag at 15, sharing that Tyler Perry was the first drag queen she ever saw. It inspired her to film sketch videos in drag! They even showed some of the videos. So cute!
It was time for the queens to take on the main stage in front of Ru, Michelle Visage, Carson Kressley, and Isaac Mizrahi. The first category was one inspired by a classic nursery rhyme. Sapphira, Nymphia, Hershii, and Q had my favorite look in this category. So strong! Then came significant mother – their favorite famous mother. I loved Dawn’s ode to Audrey Hepburn, Amanda’s Michelle Visage Ruveal, and Q’s Judy Garland.
Last but not least were the looks they created themselves. Dawn’s look was wonderful, and Megami put together a great outfit. However, Nymphia was everything to me. Personality? Perfect. Look? Stunning.
After the runway, the queens rated one another. Nymphia, Q, and Sapphira were rated the top queens of the week, while Geneva Karr, Hershii, and Mhi’ya Iman LePaige fell into the bottom three. I was sad to see Hershii in the bottom, but I understood why. Her crafted look was basic. I was so excited when Nymphia took home the win, though! When it came down to the bottom two, Hershii and Geneva fell in the bottom two.
The duo faced off to Maybe You’re The Problem by Ava Max. In the end, Geneva got to stay, while Hershii sashayed away. Her walk-off line simply being “it’s chocolate,” was brilliant. Is anyone else ready to see her glow up on a season of All-Stars?
