Another week, another incredible episode of RuPaul’s Drag Race season 16! The queens returned to the workroom following the elimination of Amanda Tori Meating and she left them a very long mirror message. Megami got straight to the point, asking Plane Jane who she would pick on now that Amanda was gone. She said she would turn over a new leaf but Dawn wasn’t buying it.
It was a new day in the workroom and RuPaul kicked it off with Charro! Is there a better way to start an episode? She would be judging the queens in a flamenco dance competition. Morphine Dior Love and Xunami Muse were naturals, and Xunami won the challenge. She won the challenge and was given a trip to Spain, but due to her DACA status, she was not able to go. She said on Twitter that production gave her money instead. She was also able to get the trip gifted to Hershii LiqCour Jeté! How amazing is that?!
RuPaul then shared that the queens would be crafting their own dolls with matching looks for themselves. As always, beloved icon Nymphia Wind pretended she couldn’t do the task but actually loved to collect Bratz Dolls and customize them. Love that for her.
While the queens were putting their outfits together, some needed more help than others. Plane struggled with her fabric, while Mih’ya Iman Le’Paige relied on Sapphira Cristal for help. While working on her dress, Geneva Karr hit a bit of a wall and had to remake the whole thing. When she restarted, she was using the same color as Plasma and Plane.
As the queens were getting into drag, Q opened up about her family’s financial struggles growing up and how she carried guilt by choosing art instead of being the one to bring her family out of poverty. She did say that her mom is her biggest fan and was praying for her to get cast on the show.
It was time to hit the main stage with Ru, Michelle Visage, TS Madison, and Law Roach. When it came to the looks, my favorite was Dawn, and I was so happy to see her on top this week! And Q was so back, baby. She looked incredible and her doll was a clone! Geneva was clearly in the bottom, her storyline just didn’t add up.
In the end, Q finally got her much-deserved win! While Geneva and Mih’ya fell into the bottom two. The pair faced off to Control by Janet Jackson. Mih’ya finally got to show off her flips and it was worth the wait! It was a fierce performance from both queens, but it was Geneva who would sashay away.
Next week, the queens will be acting. Can’t wait to see how that turns out!
