The final four of RuPaul’s Drag Race returned to the workroom following the elimination of Morphine Love Dior. Everyone was going to miss her, and let’s face it, we will too! Q and Plane Jane quickly got into it, in their sibling rivalry way. Q had a point, though. Plane’s costume was a bit basic. But Plane bit back, saying she sold it and there is more to the challenge than just the look, and that’s definitely true.
In came RuPaul and shared that the queens would be lip-syncing for their lives underwater for the mini challenge, calling it an aqua boogie. Plane said Ru was trying to waterboard them, and she wasn’t wrong. Sapphira Crystal did a full wig reveal underwater, while Nymphia Wind had no idea what the lyrics to Kitty Girl were. Sapphira won the challenge.
Nymphia said she was hoping this week’s challenge had nothing to do with writing. Well, it was not her lucky day. The queens would be writing their own book, taking cover photos, and doing an interview with Matt Rogers.
The contestants worked on their writing before doing a photo shoot with RuPaul present. Nymphia looked amazing! Q had a little less direction with her concept, but RuPaul helped her find her way. Sapphira looked perfect, plus she and Ru got along like old friends. Plane’s concept was campy and goofy of course, but Ru shared that she could still look sexy.
After the photoshoot, the queens did their interviews with Matt. Plane shared she had to realize that there is a tact to being bitchy, however, she still made digs at Amanda Tori Meating, so! Matt even commented on her shade. Sapphira’s interview was absolute perfection. She is magical, isn’t she? Q shared intimate moments from her childhood, which was powerful. Nymphia told a silly story, but she also opened up about the impact Western beauty standards had on her life.
As they were preparing for the runway, the queens opened up about their highest and lowest moments of the competition. It was sweet to see them come together like this. Aside from some serious feuds, this group seemed especially close and genuine with one another. It’s been a joy to watch.
RuPaul was joined by Michelle Visage, TS Madison, and Ronan Farrow on the judge’s panel. On the runway, the queens wore their best drag. Sapphira got the best critiques, and rightfully so. Nymphia got 10s across the board as well, while Q and Plane got less wonderful critiques.
In the end, Nymphia won the challenge! I was so happy for her. She was the first queen to move on to the finale! Sapphira was safe and moving forward, too!
Plane and Q fell into the bottom two. They faced off to Better Be Good to Me by Tina Turner. It was a fun performance. Plane moved forward, while Q sashayed away. Q had an amazing run and should be proud of what she brought to the competition. I think she was a little shocked that there wasn’t a top-four! Was anyone else? Let us know in the comments below!
Now, it’s time to pledge your allegiance. Are you Team Sapphira, Team Nymphia, or Team Plane? Sound off!
