We’ve just kicked off a brand new season of RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars 9, but earlier this week. World of Wonder announced a brand new season of Drag Race México will premiere later in 2024. Additionally, Season 2 will have both Drag Race France alumni Lolita Banana and fashion maven Oscar Madrazo both returning to the franchise. Season 2 will also showcase Queen of the Universe Season 2 winner Taiga Brava making her own debut as the Drag Race México co-host (taking over duties from Season 1 co-host and Drag Race All Star Valentina).
Both the dynamic cast and the special celebrity judges of Season 2 of Drag Race México will be announced in the coming weeks. This season of Drag Race México will showcase drag queens from all over Mexico to “compete in challenges involving acting, fashion, comedy and more in hopes of becoming the next drag superstar and winning the grand cash prize”. WOW Presents Plus remains the exclusive home to Drag Race México as well.
As for the departing Season 1 co-host Valentina, the popular Drag Race alumni is looking towards the future. She said in a statement “It was a great honor to serve as a host for the inaugural season of Drag Race México. Thank you to my World of Wonder family for making this dream come true of bringing Drag Race to Mexico. Also, thank you to my dear fans for all your support. l wish all the best to the new host, I will be tuning in! Love, Valentina “.
World of Wonder co-founders Fenton Bailey and Randy Barbato echo Valentina’s sentiments saying , “Thank you Valentina for sharing your talents in the remarkable, record-setting inaugural season of Drag Race México – your impact will be everlasting on our show and we couldn’t be more grateful. We are so excited to now welcome Taiga Brava as co-host. We knew she was destined for big things the second we saw her sashay onto the Queen of the Universe stage.”
