The queens of RuPaul’s Drag Race All-Stars season 9 arrived back in the work room and Gottmik and Nina West instantly had to make a decision. They both won extra badges to hand out. The question about whether or not there were alliances came up, and that led to a bit of drama.
The drama continued into the new day in the work room when Gottmik brought up how the other queens were cheering on Nina West more than her during the lip sync. Vanessa ‘Vanjie’ Mateo said, “play it back,” and the producers listened and replayed the clip. Allegedly, Shannel and Angeria Paris VanMichaels were working with Nina and cheering her on. Roxxxy Andrews called for an end to the alliance talk, and in came RuPaul to put the conversation to end for good.
Ru then made Nina and Mik give out their badges. Nina gave hers to Roxxxy, while Mik chose Vanjie. Then, Ru made the queens get into pairs. Still shaken by the allegations of alliances, they had to choose wisely. Shannel and Angie were a pair, as were Plastique and Jorgeous, Roxxxy and Vanjie, and Mik and Nina. Shannel was now the only queen without a badge, so she was feeling the pressure to win this challenge.
Then came the good news for the queens. They would be putting firefighters into drag. Not just any drag queens, though. They would be transformed into pop stars and compete in a girl group challenge. Yes, these poor firefighters had to sing a song called Pussy on Fire.
The firefighters got to pick their groups via speed dating. Adam chose Roxxxy and Vanjie, Anaré went with Plastique and Jorgeous, Brad Lee chose Shannel and Angeria, and Nathan was paired with Mik and Nina.
It was so fun watching the queens and their firefighters work together. The guys were so into the challenge and you could tell how they had chemistry with the queens they chose to work with. However, Mik and Nina were struggling to find a way to combine their aesthetics with their body builder fireman!
After working on their verses and choreography, it was finally time for the boys to get into drag. Anaré, who was working with Jorgeous and Plastique, even agreed to getting his eyebrows shaved! Adam, Roxxxy and Vanjie’s guy, talked about how he supports his trans child, and Nathan, who was working with Mik and Nina, shared how stupid drag bans are because he works at a children’s hospital and drag queens aren’t even on the kids’ fear radars!
It was time for everyone to hit the main stage in front of Ru, Michelle Visage, Ross Mathews,, and T.J. and John Osbourne. The category on the runway was smokin’ hot pop stars. Can we talk about how everyone looked SO good? Then came the performances. The guys were such good sports about the choreo and you could tell they were having a good time. It was one of those challenges where anyone could win, and I would be happy no matter what.
In the end, Roxxxy and Vanjie were the winners! It was the first time Vanjie had ever won a challenge on Drag Race! Love that for her.
This performance was going to be amazing. Roxxxy has never lost a lip sync, and Vanjie was an assassin on her eason. They faced off to Black Cat by Janet Jackson. They looked so good, and were so good. It was a tie!
That means they had to decide together who would be cut off for the following week. Roxxxy had some unfinished business and chose to cut Angie! Do you think the drama will be real in the workroom next week? Sound off in the comments below!
