For the past several years, Ocean Casino Resort in Atlantic City, NJ has been elevating the game when it comes to LGBTQ+ programming. Their eponymous Ocean Pride brand has done everything from showcasing drag talent during the premieres of both the Barbie and Mean Girls: The Movie premiere events to their philanthropic efforts with organizations like The Trevor Project & Garden State Equality. This year, Ocean Casino Resort kicked off their first ever Sunday Tea Dance on June 23rd with some dynamic and legendary special guests!

Peloton favorite and Dancing with the Stars finalist Cody Rigsby was on property for the event, officially opening up the brand new fitness center Mussels (more on that below). Following the ribbon cutting at Mussels, the party was at The Cabanas with Grammy-winning DJ Hex Hector spinning for the crowd. East Coast drag sensations Crystal Envy, Stefani Steel and Kimmy Sumony also kept the crowd entertained performing to some of Hex Hector’s classic remixes, culminating in an absolutely epic aquatic finale, direct from the pool over looking the Atlantic Ocean!
A one stop shop for everything wellness, Mussels is the perfect destination for you to keep up your fitness routine during your stay at the Ocean Casino Resort. Travelers will be able to enjoy a serene yoga space, and updated machines offer guests a variety of options to continue their own fitness journey. Mussels has updated machines on hand, such as an Echelon Reflect and Peloton equipment (both bikes and rowers). Ocean Casino Resort (recently voted one of the 500 Hotels & Resorts in the World by Travel & Leisure) has also found a unique way to “bring the outside in” with calming colors and lush greenery as part of the space’s color palette (a compliment to the waterfront locale of the property itself).
The Sunday Tea Dance was to support two very prominent and worthwhile New Jersey based organizations that Ocean has partnered with, & both organizations received generous donations from Ocean Casino Resort during the event. Garden State Equality is New Jersey’s largest LGBTQ non-profit organization, while AC Pride is a non profit based in Atlantic City with a mission of “promoting the health & well-being of the diverse LGBTQIA+ community in Atlantic City and the surrounding region”.Ocean Casino Resort’s very busy Sunday received significant press coverage, with outlets like Celeb Well, Access Hollywood, OK Magazine & US Weekly all showcasing both the opening of Mussels as well as the Sunday Tea Dance.
