As we get closer to the Season 17 premiere of RuPaul’s Drag Race on Friday, January 3rd, the lineup of gagworthy guest judges have been announced, along with a surprise and glamour filled Season 17 trailer, which shows the iconic Katy Perry as the premiere guest judge. Emmy Award-winning host RuPaul and mainstay judges Michelle Visage, Carson Kressley, Ross Mathews and Ts Madison also all return for the 17th season of RuPaul’s Drag Race.
A new season of Drag Race also ushers in a brand new twist; – The Badonka Dunk Tank! After each lipsync, the eliminated queen will have a chance to receive immunity, saving themselves from having to sashay away. Queens will be able to choose from ten levers and if they pick one of the two levers that dunks Michelle Visage, they get to remain in the competition. If not, they will be eliminated. The roster of guest judges on RuPaul’s Drag Race Season 17 includes: Doechii, Sandra Bernhard, Julia Schlaepfer, Paul W. Downs, Hunter Schafer, Quinta Brunson, Jamal Sims, Law Roach, Adam Lambert, Betsey Johnson, Whitney Cummings, Sam Smith, Jerrod Carmichael, June Diane Raphael, and Tracee Ellis Ross.
