Bringing together a group of dynamic Drag Race performers would not be complete without including a couple dynamic girls from New York City! As Slaycation hits WOW Presents Plus today (for a perfect New Year’s Day binge), Kandy Muse and Luxx Noir London round out the cast, all of which are ready to take on new adventures and build new relationships (with some possible bumps along the way). I sat down with Kandy and Luxx to dish on bringing their New York City flavor to Slaycation, what they expected from the experience, and where they may want to team up to travel next to!
Michael Cook: You both brought some much-needed East Coast realness to Slaycation. What was it like for each of you?
Luxx Noir London: It was so much fun! I just loved the fact that I was going on vacation & there to have a good time; and that is what I did!
Kandy Muse: It was so fun, it was so much fun being part of a pilot part of a television show, and so much fun being part of Slaycation! It was fun being in the winter tundra of Canada with the girls and doing those activities, things that we would not necessarily be doing all the time.
MC: Well Kandy, you particularly came from another house that was slightly more packed and chaotic! (Kandy Muse was a standout on Season 2 of House of Villains).
KM: (Laughs) That is very true! House of Villains and Slaycation houses are no different in one way at least, there are some big personalities in both!
MC: What do you think you each learned about each other while in the Slaycation environment?
KM: There were a lot of stories told, a lot of personal stories about the girls , that we may not have necessarily known about each other if we were just working together at a club. Being together in a house really gave us the opportunity to open up to each other.
MC: Everyone in the Slaycation house has a different sensibility & perspective, but New York City girls definitely have a truly unique one. Did you think that coming in, some of the other girls might be too much for you or vice versa?
LNL: Well no one is ever too much for me! I was very interested to see who would be there and what the dynamic would be. I found out what that dynamic would be and I am really happy for everyone else to find out what that dynamic will be.
KM: It was one of those things where I was a little scared because I wasn’t sure who was going to be there and what personalities were going to be there. For the most part though, it was really fun. I don’t like being around a lot of drag queens, but it was really nice being in a house with five other girls. Everyone was there to have a good time and enjoy each other’s company.
MC: We see an instant connection with the two of you, perhaps it’s an East Coast connection. Should there be a Slaycation spin-off with the two of you, Luxx where would you want to take Kandy?
LNL: I really want to go to Italy. I keep saying Italy because I am putting it out in the world that I will be in Italy this year! Maybe we would go somewhere trashy like Texas (laughs)! I feel like we’d have a good time in Texas.
KM: Honestly, we would go to Brazil, I think that.a spin off in Brazil would be everything!
