The queens returned to the workroom following Harmona Lisa’s non-elimination. In case you forgot, Acacia Forgot and Hormona faced off and Hormona was sent home. However, she got the chance to pull a lever to dunk Michelle Visage in water and she was successful! So, alas, no elimination.
These season 17 girls are bringing the drama! Hormona and Joella got into it before they even got out of drag, and Lana Ja’rea and Kori King were disappointed that no one was eliminated. Last season we had a beautiful sisterhood, this one seems catty and I’m loving it.
It was a brand new day in the workroom and RuPaul came in with Monopoly cards for the contestants to pull. Whatever the price on their card was they would actually get it as a cash prize. Lana got Boardwalk, the most expensive property in the game at $400, however Crystal Envy got to steal and stole it from her. Meanwhile, Acacia got sent to jail.
For the maxi challenge, the queens would be creating looks inspired by their Monopoly cards. Whatever color their card was would be the color of their materials. However, the queens with the same colored cards are not working as a team. Are you following? Me neither.
In a strange turn of events, Lucky Starzzz was upset that the only material provided was nice fabric, not things like cardboard or foam. Sam Star and Crystal Envy thought they had it in the bag because of their background with pageants. Lexi Love wanted to do a complex look, and Kori assumed she was biting off more than she could chew.
Ru came in and met with each queen, and it turns out a lot of these queens have never sewn before! Oh, yeah, and she brought in a printed version of the Rate-A-Queen results. This of course exposed Lana and Arrietty’s alliance.
Before it was time to hit the runway, it was found out that Hormona used stones that she brought from home, not from the items provided. She had to spend time removing each stone. Lexi tattled on her, and I think she had every right to! She broke the rules, and called her out. Can you tell Lexi is my favorite queen in the competition?
As the queens were getting in drag, Onya Nurve and Jewels Sparkles got into it. Onya stole some material from Jewels’ station, and she was not having it. The girls were fighting!
On the main stage, Ru was joined by Michelle, TS Madison, and national treasure Sandra Bernhard. The category was, you guessed it, Monopulence! You own everything! Everyone looked great, but my favorites were definitely Arrietty, Lydia B. Collins, Sam, and Onya.
It was time for the judges critiques. Lucky, Kori, and Joelle were the bottom queens, while Arrietty, Onya, and Sam were the top queens of the week. Any of the top three queens could have taken it, but Sam was the winner! She looked great, well deserved!
As for the bottoms, we got maybe the best RuPaul read in awhile. To Kori, she said, “your yellow bird was … cheap cheap.” Thanks, we needed that! In the end, Lucky and Joella fell into the bottom two.
The song of the evening was The Way That You Love Me by Paula Abdul. Lucky was really in her element, and Joella had some fun moments in there, too. It was a very entertaining face-off. I thought Lucky had it, but Joella was saved.
She had another chance to stay, though, thanks to the BadonkaDunk tank. However, she wasn’t as lucky (no pun intended) as Hormona. I was sad to see her go!
What were your thoughts on this elimination? Let us know! Next week, the queens will be creating commercials inspired by iconic Drag Race moments! I always love to see iconic moments from the show’s history return!
