What I love about our sweet RuPaul’s Drag Race is when we think we’ve seen the worst Snatch Game of all time, the next season says, “what if we do even worse?” and we all clap with glee. This was a rough one and we’ve got to talk about it.
The queens returned to the workroom following the elimination of Hormona Lisa and celebrated the piggy of the week, Arrietty! Kori King called out that a lot of the queens were acting invincible following last week, and boy was Snatch Game about to humble them.
It was a new day in the workroom and the queens found that Hormona left them a surprise: her infamous blonde bob wig. They had fun with that for a bit and then RuPaul entered to share that the queens would be participating in Snatch Game this week. Suzie Toot, or if you saw Kelly Mantle’s podcast episode with Jinkx Monsoon, Tootsie Scooter, was excited about the challenge, as was Onya Nurve, but not everyone was feeling as confident.
Onya chose to do Eddie Murphy, Susie was Ellen Green from Little Shop of Horrors, Jewels Sparkles took on the character of Miss Big Feet (??), Arrietty chose Baby Cupid (again, ??), Lydia B. Collins was David Lynch, Lexi Love selected Gilbert Gottfried, Sam Star picked pageant coach Kim Gravel, Acacia Forgot was Trisha Paytas, Crystal Envy chose Nicole Richie, Lana Ja’Rae picked Rosa Parks, and Kori took on the role of Big Ang.
Oh yeah, and Alyssa Edwards, who is coming off her Global All-Stars win, and once had to apologize to Katy Perry for her Snatch Game performance, came in to help guide the queens. We love Alyssa for her hilarious quips, and she instantly delivered when she heard Ru call over Lydia Butthole Collins and caught Alyssa off guard. Ru also took the opportunity to drag Kori’s shoe choice, which was absolutely hilarious.
Alyssa was on the panel for Snatch Game, alongside a talking buttplug named Gay I? Your guess is as good as mine. Alyssa was absolutely eating Sam’s performance as pageant coach Kim Gravel up. Onya’s Eddie Murphy was perfect. Lexi was so bad she was good, which is one of my favorite types of Snatch Game performances. Jewels was hilarious as Miss BigFeet. Crystal, Arrietty, and Lana struggled a lot. Everyone else seemed to land in the middle of the road.
On the mainstage, Ru was joined by Michelle Visage, Ross Mathews, and the amazing Quinta Brunson! Category on the runway was Nailed It!
My favorite looks on the runway were Acacia, Suzie’s unique take on the concept, and of course Lexi’s Cher nails. I also loved how Jewels took a personal twist to her look. Acacia, Suzie, Kori, and Lydia were safe this week. Lexi was so bad she was good and somehow got a top placement! Onya, Sam, and Jewels joined her in the top, while Lana, Crystal, and Arrietty landed in the bottom. Also, can we talk about how great Quinta’s ideas were for characters? Can she come back every season and coach the queens before the episode?!
Onya landed yet another much deserved win, while Crystal and Lana fell in the bottom. They faced off to Hands to Myself by Selena Gomez. I’m not sure if I agreed with Ru sending Crystal home, but alas, here we are. Did you agree with the elimination? Let us know in the comments below!
